I had a larger item delivered to this store and I was beyond impressed with how accommodating they were to help me get it home.

They had an associate bring the forklifted item to my car (moving several large stacks out of the way to do so), then he helped me breakdown the package, helped load the item, and disposed of all the extra cardboard and packing materials at the end. I appreciate how they handled this situation and would highly recommend them.

Excellent neighborhood hardware store. Prices may be a little higher than big box stores, but the convenience and friendly, helpful employees more than make up the difference.

Big store. Much bigger than my two in PB. Went looking for a solution to bed legs ruining the rug and got some great 'MacGyver' advice. Wish I got the guys name, and no it wasn't Angus.

This is one of the best neighborhood hardware stores in San Diego. They are much larger than most neighborhood hardware stores probably the size of a small Home Depot. The pricing is very reasonable and the service is exceptional. Even though I live close to and Ash and a Home Depot. I always come to this store first. They almost always have what I need and I can get in and out in less than half the time of the Home Depot. This particular building has been a hardware store on and off ever since I first moved to San Diego back in the seventies. It is so nice to have a neighborhood hardware store that provides almost everything I need for repairs and projects around the house.

The long time employees are always extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The newer, younger ones have room for growth in all three aspects but that is understandable

Staff is very helpful and friendly. Most of the time you are greeted at the door and if you have questions they will walk you right to what you are looking for. I like being able to get just a couple fasteners from their bulk drawers instead of having to buy a box of 20 at a time.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff that you'll be on a first name basis with after a few visits. It's a small, local hardware store so you won't find a huge selection, just most of the stuff you actually need to fix or complete a project. Great selection of fasteners. Garden center sells native plants and you can get worm castings. Store is always neat, clean and organized. Customers are always greeted right away and I've always received help when I needed it. They do a good job at cutting keys and are really good at screen repair.

Helpful, friendly staff, looking to help you. A well-put together store. Good selection and reasonable prices, with sale items, too. They had my brand- specific pressure cooker part. Such a nice experience, I bought a few other items I'll need later on. I think it is a misconception 'big box stores' offer better prices than small stores like this. I like supporting small business, especially good ones!

This is my favorite store in town. I am barely through the door before someone asks if I need assistance, and they don't just find what I need; they help me troubleshoot my projects with ideas and expertise. True, they don't have the inventory of a Home Depot, but I can usually get whatever I need and the atmosphere is worth the occasional disappointment. Everyone there is friendly and relaxed. They even offer treats to my dog!

I adore the dedication and courtesy these employees show. They not only help you find what you are looking for, they also like to make sure you have any items for preparation or finishing items you may need for the project you are working. The Supervisors are amazing and always have been genuine in providing you any service you need. I would rather have a great neighborhood hardware store than a huge warehouse of everything that are lacking in customer relations or just service period. I highly recommend that you to visit San Carlos Hardware the next time you need anything.

The best costumer service I've had in years. Walked in and was approached by an employee, they asked if they could help me, and they did! They gave me a discount for buying more than one of the same item, the discount was 20%! With the discount the item was cheaper than the cheapest harbor freight item. Great selection, quality products. I'm coming back here for sure!

High quality, friendly local hardware store. I went in here for some pressure treated 2x4s and was impressed by how straight they were. HD and Lowes everything is always soaking wet, twisted, and bowed.
They have a great bolt bin where you can just get 2 or 3 of a certain size. Count on being asked if you need help finding something.

A great hardware store. Probably have what you need. They had a sale on a wheelbarrow, but were out. So Matt went out of his way and transferred one from a sister store for me. Great service!
