If you like good deals don’t go here 🤣. It’s so ironic that the store with the name “Dollar General” does not REALLY want you to find any deals!!!!!!!! And anyone looking for them will be staked by staff and made to feel like they are a criminal.

I don’t even write reviews EVER. But after my experience here I feel the need to do so.

Also pretty sure the review from RANDY (below mine) is referring to the same employee I had issues with……

First, this is actually one of the largest, nicest, clean and well organized Dollar General’s I have been to……

I actually would have given it 5 stars had I not been treated so poorly by the DG employee (young women with short brown hair and glasses who thinks she is Sherlock Holmes on the evening of 2/13- yes I am speaking directly of you).

Keep in mind, I coupon frequently so I take my time going isle to isle to find the best deals…No, I am not one of those people who leave stores with 4 carts filled with hot sauce and aspercreame 🥴😒🤦‍♀ …I just like a good deal.

The entire time I was in this store, (almost 2 hrs) I was followed isle by isle, IN the same isle, by the DG staff for NO reason whatsoever……the employe almost intentionally mowed me down with the broom (broom is width of the isle) not once but twice In a matter of 30 seconds. And no she was not sweeping the store itself…she was only sweeping the isle I was in which they wanted me out of so I would not find any of your bottomed out items for sale (but I did anyway).

No the staff was not stocking the shelves or pulling items OR helping other customers (I was the only customer for the last hour)…..

Because of how I was treated by the staff, I can only assume that the DG employees thought I was either stealing OR shopping off the “DG LIST …..I clearly wasn’t stealing…. I was making lists and checking my coupons for deals!!!!!! That’s it!!!!!

I am a PAYING customer and who is free to spend as much time browsing through the junk in your store as I would like…And if I am not , then you need to revise your stores policy……

****DG corporate, get your staff brushed up on interpersonal skills and general customer service ………..stalking customers like they are criminals and then being rude at the register (not referring to the manager here) is not a good way to obtain good reviews OR return customers………..

I will not be visiting this location again.

Dollar General incident Sunday 3-12-23
At about 2 pm my wife and I stopped in to Dollar General located on Black Dog Alley Rd. in Easton, MD. To buy a pack of cigarettes. My wife told the clerk what kind of cigarettes she wanted and the clerk asked for her ID. My wife did not have her ID with her and the clerk informed her she could not sell them to her. My wife is 69 years old but we understood, so I said I would buy them, I am 82. The clerk told me I had to take my ID out of my wallet and hand it too her, she took my drivers license and entered some information into the cash register, (I assume it was my birthdate but not sure) My wife handed her a $20 bill and she said she couldn’t take the money from her, she had to get the money from me. At that point I was getting agitated because I felt she was harassing us. My wife gave me the $20 and I handed it to the clerk. When I asked why, the clerk said in a very abrupt manner “It’s the law” and she refused to give the change to my wife she had to give it to me. I handed the cigarettes to my wife and she told me I couldn’t do that and said she would not give me my change unless I took the cigarettes from her. My wife put the cigarettes in my pocket and she had to give me the change.
I realize that Dollar General is trying to ensure that cigarettes are being sold legally and not to minors, however I think a little common sense should be used. The clerk was rather abrupt and I felt she was harassing us. I am also concerned about her taking my license away and entering information in her register.

Same clerk, same story. The clerk said she had to be sure my license did not expire.
