I stop here nearly everytime I come to Shelby because you never know what you'll find. On this trip, I found a pair of suede Vans in great shape for $8, a couple of band t-shirts for $4, a giant glass jar to fill with seashells for $3, and a stainless steel colander for $1.

It was okay. You can tell they haven't been open very long.

I did find a live cockroach and moth inside some clothes I was looking at, but I'm sure it's hard to keep up on all of that stuff at a thrift store.

I did find some pretty good deals. Most of the prices seemed a bit too high, though. A lot of the clothing was stained/torn in the children's section.

I will not go out of my way to visit again.

Prices are higher than expected and far from charitable. Clothes are reasonable. Housewares are higher priced than expected.
Furniture is way too expensive being well used, stained and scarred up.

Place used to be fantastic as did the staff however since they moved things changed. Prices for houseware are insane. Since when did the salvation army start catering to the elite. I went there so I could get nice things for a good price. But now I can't afford it. It saddens me to watch how the life is being sucked out of things and ppl. And the lady that is doing the pricing is so greedy. I had bought a bracelet for 1.99 and she ask me where I found it. ?? Well where the bracelets are ma'am. She says 'oh better be glad I didn't see it first' then ask if there were any more. She put 135 dollars on some chinaware she "looked up' that was not only ridiculous for the SALVATION army but it was a replica. A pair of lamps the same thing. 100 for the set that wasn't even what she said they were. Come on ppl. Do better. If not for yourself at least for the ones trying to make something out of nothing. I'm sure ppl who have made these DONATIONS are not aware of the prices she puts on the items. A lot of DONATIONS are not intended to make the SALVATION army employees money as much as it is to give back and help the community. There's plenty of volunteers that ring bells give food serve the community and donate cash money to pay the employees and then some. And I'm more than sure that has dropped off some over the past year and I can clearly see why.
