Varsity Sports Baton Rouge

I am a new runner (so new I don't think I get to call myself a runner yet). I went in and spent the morning with Lizette, who was fantastic, and helped me get new gear and tips on what to watch for. At no point did I feel pressured one way or another, she just helped guide me to shoes that felt great for me and helped match my needs. I am very excited to take my new shoes out for their first run.

On 04/08/2024 I finally went and glad I did. Friendly staff. Didn't realize I needed a half size bigger shoe. The lady who helped me was amazing. I can't believe it took me this long to go there. I am extremely happy about my purchase, I will be back or calling to order my shoes from Varsity Sports from now on!

I went to Varsity Sports yesterday and I just knew I had to write a review. So I’ve recently been diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis which is a painful condition in the foot. My doctor recommended Varsity Sports to me to find an appropriate sneaker and I’m so glad he did. As soon as I walked in the door I was offered assistance and told the employee my issues (which she was very familiar with) and what I was looking for in a shoe. She took the time to sit with me and discuss my options and they even have this awesome modern device that sizes your feet and draws up a diagram of them. She helped me try on about 5-6 pairs of shoes.. all very comfortable but in the end I chose my HOKAs.
Less than 24 hours ago I was limping and having pain in my foot but with these new shoes I can walk with much less pain! Unfortunately the name of the employee has escaped me but she was excellent. Every pair of shoes even comes with a free Varsity Sports t-shirt! I was so pleased with my experience that I also purchased a 2nd t-shirt. I will definitely recommend this store to family, friends and coworkers. It feels like I haven't had such great customer service in a long time. Thank you Varsity Sports I will be back!

I enjoy shopping at the Baton Rouge location whenever I'm in town visiting family. The store's variety of products is always great. During my last trip in July, I needed new running sneakers. For years I'd been going through different brands and couldn't shake a foot issue that always seemed exacerbated by running. Lizette put me in Asics Gel Nimbus 25, and it's like she's a miracle worker. 50 miles into this shoes and my feet haven't been this happy in years. Thank you!

Really helpful and really patient. I didn’t catch the name of the woman helping us, but she was awesome. I came in looking to buy my first pair of real running shoes but did not know where to start. She was very helpful. I tried on about five pairs, and decided on one, and she still had me try on one more pair just to make sure. Prices are same or cheaper than the internet. This is where you need to buy running shoes and accessories.

As a 50 year old 1st time runner i had no idea what to expect when I visited the store. I was welcomed like a friend, got 3-D scans of my feet and got the most personalized service I have ever received. Jenny was awesome and took great care to help me find just the right shoe to get me started.

Running is my hobby, and not being from the Baton Rouge area I have to say this is one of the best running stores that I have been into. Staff was super helpful and friendly. And they carry so many brands. Highly recommend for runners that are beginning all the way up.

My family and I love this store. Each time we go, the staff is exceedingly helpful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. The products they carry are excellent, and there is a wide variety of running appearal and brands. We also enjoy getting a free shirt with our purchase. 🙂

Went to Varsity Sports on Perkins for first time June 12th. Was helped by Julia and I can only say it was the best customer service I have experienced at a retail store. Went through multiple pairs of shoes to find the right fit for my needs. Never felt rushed at all and walked out with a new pair of runners that feel great. I will definitely be back and will suggest to others.

I tend to get my running shoes from here. This place has friendly staff that is very helpful in guiding you to the best shoe for you. The prices are typical; I didn't find them to be more or less expensive than Amazon for the pair of shoes I bought. The benefit here is the assistance with selection and the ability to try them on before purchasing.
Every pair of shoes purchased includes a free t-shirt which is nice.

Had such a great experience. Ralston was my salesman, & he immediately greeted me & after just a few questions he knew what he needed to do for my situation. He measured my foot got me a few pair to try on my feet. 1st pair was so much more than my current shoe. I tried on several more pairs & bought 2 pairs. He was so knowledgeable. Thanx Ralston.... I'll be back!!

Great staff who were ready to help despite having a busy Saturday! Great customer service. They helped with picking out a shoe and proper shoe size. Will definitely come back to shop here! Highly recommend going to this store for your new pair of shoes.

If you’re looking for tennis shoes or athleisure wear, Varsity Sports is the BEST place in town! Great selection with the best customer service. Conner (sales associate I dealt with) was very knowledgeable and patient while I tried on several types of shoes. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

Took our son to Varsity for the first time on a Saturday morning. It was busy but the staff was very welcoming. When my son's name was called the lady who helped us was Jenni. We wanted to address my son's flat feet. She watched how he walked and then scanned his feet. Lots of time was spent with him to get the correct and most comfortable shoe. She was very knowledgeable, super helpful, sweet and through conversation we found out she was the owner of the store! We would 100% recommend Varsity Sports and Jenni.

10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I was assisted by Grace. She was very knowledgeable, and patient. Ultimately, I walked out very happy with my purchase and experience at Varsity Sports. I cannot wait to return.
