I LOVE bookstores! The ambience, the different types of books to peruse, and the energy that it produces. But this place is so much more. It is a bookseum, containing books with purpose, as well as a history of her family heritage and heritage of people of color. It is very contemporary, using hashtags to categorize sections; it also has the opportunity to study, listen to music, and be a part of the community. Throughout the day you can use the space to hold book clubs, workshops, and even private venues.

The staff are amazing, and every time you walk in it is a learning experience.

I happened to be walking past the shop when I heard music coming from outside and decided to go in and I’m so happy I did! Yaya was so nice and informative, she gave me the whole run down of her business and all the events she does for the community, it was so inspiring. I left happy with my purchases and can't wait to go back and chat about the book I bought!

This is not only a bookstore but a safe space to connect and share positive energy! My girlfriends and I love the unique events that are held here. The love you feel from the owner and her colleagues is infectious and uplifting. Definitely a place for anyone looking for inspiration ❤

I attended the Ancient Yoga session with Sarita and it was truly an amazing session. Sarita taught the fundamentals of this practice, which allowed you to feel and understand the purpose of each pose and tapping into our own divinity. I will definitely attend another session.

Wow. My husband and I stumbled into this gem completely by accident, but we lucked out. Yaya was so welcoming & enthusiastic, I just felt at home. This place is all heart and definitely the kind of place I want to spend real time. It’s deeply and unapologetically welcoming to everyone in every walk of life. We’ll be back.

I was mesmerized when I stepped into Sadie’s over this past weekend. The staff and owner were so inviting I had to go back immediately. Each time I went, the staff stopped what they were doing to engage with me and give me a tour of the bookstore.
The main takeaway was this place was special because it was more than a bookstore. It is a space for the community it serves to visit and have a place for them. This will be a staple in the Hudson Valley in due time.

Sadie’s is such an incredible place to be! It is so warm and inviting, and as their name says it’s more than just a bookstore. They have a great collection of books for everyone to enjoy, and they also have other essentials and items to enjoy like sweaters, pins and stickers. I can spend hours here speaking to different people and listening to stories. They are an amazing part of this community and they support everyone around them from snack brands to designers and authors. If I could describe the owner Yaa Yaa in two words it would be love and unity. She’s poured so much passion and love into everything and you can feel it when you walk in. I’m so excited to see what Yaa Yaa and Sadie’s continue to build and grow. They are a necessary piece to this community❤🙏🏾!!

Sadie’s books and beverages is truly more than a bookstore…it’s a WHOLE VIBE! The moment I walked into the bookstore, I felt like family. It’s such a warm and a familial environment. Yaya and her family cater to all the needs of the community including children. I bought my son with me to their re-grand opening and was encouraged to let him be free to explore, play, run around, and freely enjoy the space as his own. I felt welcomed and a sense of community. It’s definitely my new favorite book store and study spot. Love that everything is black owned. I love the celebration of black beauty and black excellence. It’s a Whole Vibe!

I am a small business owner and also an author! I inquired to get my book into the bookseum and the process has been pretty seamless thus far!! I feel like there is opportunity for the community to thrive in this space!

Happened to be in the area and heard the music floating out the front door and had to pop in. If you don’t love an indie bookshop- especially one that is community focused- stop reading. This shop has a meaningful selected of books at all price points.. a full roster of community events- and tons of heart. Stop in!!

Sadie's has easily become one of my favorite places for enrichment. The book selection offers a variety of titles ranging from stuff for my children and myself. The atmosphere is always engaging and inviting, and I am always met with a warm smile by the store owner YaaYaa. The events hosted have offered me networking opportunities and chances to connect with other individuals that share similar interests. I look forward to all that Sadie's has to offer and am so glad it is a part of our community.

I can clearly recall the first time I entered this fantastic space! I was greeted by the owner, and she was filled with excitement which I felt immediately. Her explanation of how the store came about and the passion that she exudes is indescribable. It is so refreshing to have a new bookstore in the neighborhood, but it is more exciting because this is a black-owned business.
