Fairfax Ace Hardware

I had such a an amazing experience at Fairfax Ace Hardware this morning, and I'm not even a person that knows much about fixing things!! The store is absolutely filled with everything that you can imagine. If you need something for a repair, I guarantee you that they either have it here, or they can get it for you. I came in this morning to get a key made for my car. Mikey 110% and above with his superb customer service! I really appreciate it all the help and tips that he gave me. Everywhere I looked I saw associates taking care of their duties. And although they were busy, not one of them failed to smile and say, "Hello." I will definitely be coming back here!! Thank you so much!!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting ACS hardware store in Fairfax VA and I wanted to take a moment to recognize the exceptional service I received from Stephen. Their dedication, knowledge, and helpfulness made my experience at the store truly outstanding. I would like to share my positive experience and recommend Stephen to others.

During my visit to, I needed assistance with car key replacement Stephen approached me with a warm greeting and a genuine willingness to help.
Exceptional Customer Service
Stephen went above and beyond to ensure that I had a positive experience at the store. They were attentive, patient, and took the time to answer all of my questions. Their friendly and approachable demeanor made me feel comfortable seeking assistance, and I never felt rushed or dismissed.
Going the Extra Mile
Stephen went the extra mile to make the key even his shift working hours at the store was about to end. They went out of their way to locate a specific item that was not readily available, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction. It was evident that they genuinely cared about meeting my needs and providing the best possible service.

Needed a single machine screw to complete a matching set, but didn’t know its exact size and thread count. Called this store to ask if they had a gauge/template to identify the exact size and thread count of the screw I had. They did. Showed up, found the gauge, identified what felt like the best match by screwing it into a template hole, then was asked by an associate if I needed any assistance. I thought I didn’t, but explained that I needed to match that screw, and I thought I had found the perfect match but asked if there was there anything else I should consider. He added that to be absolutely sure, that we should try the screw in its matching nut, so he found the nut and confirmed it had no wiggle room, so was a perfect fit.

This was a good reminder of the truth in their old slogan, that it’s the place of the helpful hardware man. The big box stores have larger space for larger sized supplies in greater quantities, but Ace has all the supplies and tools for any home repair/maintenance DIY project - plus the helpful and knowledgeable staff to give helpful advice. I’ll be coming here from now on as my first stop, and only continuing on to a big box store if Ace doesn’t have what I need.

Always find Ace Hardware has the larger selection of bolts and screws than the larger home improvement stores. That coupled with a very knowledgeable staff makes them ideal for finding the items needed for my projects.

I also strive to use Ace for larger purchases of tools and materials so they can continue to have the wider selection of small but necessary items like screws, bolts, and washers.

I purchased a Stihl Blower Vac 2 years ago and have taken it to ACE for repairs and service with good results. They certainly appreciate the fact that I purchased there and have always been very responsive in turning it around. This past week in the prime leaf season the starter cable retractor coil malfunctioned and rendered it in operative. When I brought it in Eddie, the technician troubleshot the problem and said that he thought that he could repair it on the spot if he had the part.
I cannot express how grateful I was for his prompt service. That is what keeps me coming back. Thank you, Eddie and Fairfax ACE.

I really thought Ace Hardware was sinking and that I was doomed to only buy my products from Amazon. Owen changed all of this. He is the God of service and I can not thank him enough for all the assistance he has provided to me. I was quite disapointed by the service I had recieved from another manager last week but Owen worked his magic and changed my view of the store. When visitin Ace I will always search for Owen, his brother, or John. Because of Owen I will be returning over and over again. Thanks so much

I really dig this hardware store, interesting items and helpful staff. We actually go here to buy our favorite BBQ rub. I think of this place as the Trader Joe's of hardware stores.

This is my fourth visit in the store and I can’t believe I’ve been using Lowes and Home Depot so far! The staff here are AWESOME. So prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable!!!! I have spent soooooooooooooo many days and phone calls to Lowes in Fairfax trying to get a hold of someone at the store. I will never go back to Lowes. I will even pay a couple more dollars for their service level!!!!!!! Way to go, ACE!!!!! Thank you Daniel, thank you Jon!

The service is really good at this store. The prices of goods are significantly higher than other hardware stores but if you don’t know what you need the service here is good. They will help you find what you need.

When I visit my daughter in Fairfax, she always has handyman projects to work on. If I need any hardware parts, I know that I will most likely find what I need here, no matter how odd the part.
Out of the dozens of trips, the only thing I could not find was a cover plate ring for a recessed ceiling light whose hole was much bigger than the replacement fan light. I ended up having to "McGiver" the hole covering.
From the moment you walk into the store, you are greeted and directed to the correct parts location. There are always employees around to help you pick the right item. If you are in doubt about what is the correct part, you can buy both and return the wrong item without hassle if unused.
This is service that I can't find at the Home Depot, which is about the same distance away.
