Amazing place, stocked with a lot of board games and tons of magic the gathering, yugioh and pokemon packs and singles. I'd go here if you are interested in a singular card or buying a few packs they seem to always have all the latest packs in stock. Employees are also really nice and helpful while being experienced in what they're talking about, overall a fantastic place!

Great store for every rpg tabletop enthusiast. As someone who loves DnD, I felt like a kid in a candy shop

Bought some MTG cards and had a great experience. They do cost a little more than other places but it's worth it.

The gentleman that helped us was very patient while my son and I browsed through the binders for 30+ minutes. Thank you so much for your help and kindness.

All their cards are split up by set, in a binder and sorted alphabetically for each. It's very easy to find what you are looking for.

Commons = .25
Uncommon = .50
Rare = 1.00 or market value
Mythic = 1.50 or market value (I think)

Foil or alternate art is +.25.

They had many other games and stuff but I was only interested in MTG.

They had a whole other room with tables to play. Great place, will visit again. Thanks.

This place is a rare gem, I felt a flood of nostalgia soon as I walked in. The owners/staff were friendly and took time to explain the variations of games.

They have open gaming on Tuesdays so pop on in and play games with family and friends. I live 2 hours away but will definitely be back.

My son plays DND here every week and absolutely loves it. They have a huge selection of games you can purchase, and they also have gaming events most days of the week if you want to learn to play something new. Everyone is always super nice and helpful! (If you do decide that you want to learn to play something new, stop in a few days ahead of time to sign up, because some things book up quickly.)

Have been coming here all throughout college for my Magic the Gathering and board game needs. Great staff, super helpful, and will take preorders for new magic product and sell you it with markup, a great help for commander precons that tend to shoot up in price right at launch. Will keep coming back!

Great place to play Magic, D&D, etc. They offer a decent selection of gaming products. Staff is generally knowledgeable about game merchandise and they offer several organized play events.

Addendum: I sold them a bunch of Magic cards I'm not using anymore, and now their display case looks fancy.

Bought my first chess set here yesterday and I had a wonderful experience. The owner Ken is extremely kind.

Store was a little overwhelming to walk into at first. But the staff are some of the friendliest people I've ever met. This was my first time at the store and everyone was helpful, respectful and kind.

I stopped in with my 3 and 5 year old boys and the staff was super friendly. They let them dig through the boxes of heroclix characters and find their favorite ones. Super fun experience for the kids and tons of gaming stuff on the shelves to buy.

Awesome store. I went in to buy some bulk MTG cards. They had one box, I was looking for several. They put together more for me the next day. Unlike most stores, you can tell they took the time to make sure there was a good variety in the boxes, which I really appreciated. The staff there are very friendly and very helpful.

I think its time to update on checkmate since they've changed alot in the past 4 years. Their board game selection got bigger, they acquired the space next door to get more room to play which is awesome! I love the new dice they are always getting in, and the plushies make me smile every time. They even have some older rpg books and games which is so cool to see. The new rpg books are slacking either! Hands down the best game shop around the area.

Wonderful game shop! The staff is always extremely helpful and polite, and if they don't have what you want in stock they'll order it in. I've been going here for years, and they have never disappointed. I live 2 minutes from the Game Room in North Toledo, but the service is so much better here that I'm happy to make the trip.
