Fred Meyer

I love this place! They have everything needed for home, kitchen, auto, sports and even a jewelry store. Grocery selection is excellent and in my opinion is better than the big box stores. Seafood was well stocked. Meat selections were great as well. Super good variety of cheeses as well. My go to place while on vacation in Anchorage.

Love this Fred Meyer location! They are renovating right now, but they generally have one of the best organic sections in the city. Fred Meyer is such a convenient chain to begin with because of the variety of merchandise that they carry. You can pick up apparel, shoes, hardware, cookware, garden items, fresh sushi and groceries while sipping on your Starbucks watching whatever they have on the big screen tvs displayed opposite the checkout lines. I have been known to take breaks from mega holiday shops in the furniture section (nobody seems to care) And for those in a rush, there are plenty of self checkout lines.

The customer service is over the top. I dropped my 14 year old son off with a list and a bunch of coupons for an inaugural solo shop. It’s a big store and with so many brand specific discounts, I fully expected he’d be in there for four hours looking for items. I said…ask for help. He listened to me, which in and of itself made the experiment worthwhile, but he told me the employee who helped him literally walked him to ten different items to make sure he found everything. That says a lot about the training and attitudes of the staff.

They have a bargain shelf in the produce section which is worth checking out whenever you stop by. I’ve come home with a dozen perfectly good limes for $1 and massive bunches of bananas for around the same. Everything a little brown or perfectly ripe, so you have to use right away, but generally really good deals.

You’ll find everything you need and everything you didn’t need there, so make space in the fridge and bring lots of bags!

Winter 2023: Doing a big remodel and it is definitely an improvement…more room for organic and local!!

Kristy & Rhonda in the furniture dept. we're so helpful! We were trying to find a specific couch that had been discontinued- I called around to every Fred Meyer in Anchorage & ER. Kristy was kind enough to do a floor walk for me, find the item, plus it for me & had it waiting at pickup, when I arrived.
Rhonda met me at the Customer Service desk, and even help us load it. Greatly Appreciated!!

2017-I like this fred meyers. Its easy to find things the layout makes sense. Store is clean. Bathrooms are clean. Parking is easy. Checking out is fast. They have a new app with coupons that are great and fun to use.

As you enter a Fred Meyer’s you always home kinda feeling. The glow and warm atmosphere, it might be a little more expensive but those traits make up for it and the team is always helpful.

My preferred grocery store in the area. Typically has decent prices, the best if you follow sales. The food is fresh and good quality. Employees do a good job and are generally friendly and helpful.

Store is always clean and is arranged so you can find anything you are looking for. Employees are friendly and easy to talk to. Reward system always has some savings on an item that I purchase.

Great store for all my needs. Always clean and friendly service.

A good place to shop, everything you need at fair prices. I prefer to shop here because of their high-end presentation. They have a great organic selection and a wonderful floral department with helium balloons for all special occasions.

This Fred Meyer is far nicer than anything in Anchorage. The prices are always good and the whole store is clean and organized. They have way more than just food… we even got a couch here for a really great price! Home decor, clothes, etc. they’ve got it all.

Eagle River Fred Meyer is part of Kroger and has clothes groceries, and even hardware! I got fish boxes to take home my fish catches. Everyone is so friendly!

Definitely the best Fred Meyers in the Anchorage municipality. It’s always clean, their customer service is superb, and they are usually always stocked.

My experience at ER FM was good. I couldn’t find coffee filters but an associate lead me to where they were sitting. Unfortunately, they had an onslaught of call outs today. Special shout-out to Adam in Electronics, he assisted me at checkout when the self-checkouts were overwhelmed. Good environment to shop at watch out for other grumpy customers. Lol. Down to earth good staff and right after he helped me he was off to save the next person in line. Great job ER Fred Meyers!!

It's like my home town Kroger's under a different name. BECAUSE IT IS! 😀. Great grocery selection and clean well stocked store with deli, bakery, and more all inside. I can confirm that my Kroger card and coupons from the app worked without issue here. Prices seem higher to me (Ohio prices) but they seem very competitive for the area. The Eagle River Location is very nice and staffed with nice folks from my experience.

I have been to every Fred Meyer in this state and Eagle River Fred Meyer is by far the cleanest and friendliest. I love it so much I even go there if I am bored. The produce section always looks fantastic and well organized. The staff In the produce section and at the self check out are always so helpful and friendly. Shout out to Chuck in dairy, Patricia in self check out, Renee in self check out, Terri in produce, Butch in produce, Dolph in produce, Darlon in produce, and the two other friendly younger girls with short hair and two younger boys (spacing on their names!) in self check out. They are all the best!! I also love how Fred Meyer has everything to offer at a good price compared to other local grocery stores. My family in the lower forty eight always wants to stop by Fred Meyers first when they visit because they love the layout so much. Great place!

Having been a regular shopper at the Fred Meyer Muldoon store and watching the store take a long slow slide, I decided to take the drive from Anchorage and visit Fred's in Eagle River. Wow!!! Where have I been? This store, albeit older (as compared to the similar layout of Fred Meyer on Abbott Road) this store in Eagle River exudes happy shopping from the moment of entry. Nicely displayed seasonal section, fully faced shelves, and much better stocked than Fred Meyer Muldoon. If I could, I would make the drive to this store more often, and I just might do that.

Shout out to the crew, especially Zach, who helped me out with purchasing a desk (heavy item) that will soon become our new TV table. Wonderful customer service. Fred's on Muldoon could certainly take lessons from you. Keep up the good work, folks, and thank you for being here.

Went in to buy a BBQ, Frank in Home was most helpful he looked all over for the one I wanted. He could not find a new one so he offered the floor model. Then he helped me take it apart and load it in my car. What a nice man who went out of his way to provide extordinary customer service.
