If you are lucky enough to live in Buffalo, NY you may frequent the store! Say Hey to devoted staff and shop amongst the very unique and all inclusive books! For New and old finds! For all ages and backgrounds! Plus, the almost anticipated release of the BABEL books for the year!! I enjoy every moment I spend there!

Came to visit from out of state. Such a great little shop! I bought some of their pins and a friend got several books. Would highly recommend!

One of my favorite places and a top tier bookstore. The staff are friendly, helpful and not overbearing when you're just looking to lose yourself in the store.
If they don't have the book, they'll do their darnedst to find it for you.

Best independent bookstore in Buffalo New York. Welcoming, quiet, quaint and very Perfect. Staff is friendly, professional and assisted me with research. Children, patrons and local artist visited, in and out and the door is not only revolving but always open. Additionally, the books are perfectly categorized, alphabetized and organized. If you are in need of a physical book, an array of genres, magazines, book flair and overall possess. This is definitely the place #PerfectBookstore

I was able to purchase online easily, but love to browse in this store. Great options for kids that are inclusive of many topics. Beautiful card selection as well.

The atmosphere was super welcoming, not too big to get lost in, and they were super queer friendly. Had a whole section for lgbtq+ books, and a whole subsection for trans folks specifically. It was great and I highly recommend this place

So wonderful to have this special bookstore in our neighborhood. Great selection and staff! It is the perfect place to find a Babel book, a best seller, a gift for a child etc. Talking Leaves has beautiful calendars and a unique collection of cards for all occasions. It is a favorite place to shop in the Elmwood village.

This store is awesome, lots of great books and the staff was super helpful. Definitely recommended

I loved it. Beautiful, clean, more or less accessible, including the bathroom, except for the key and having nowhere to put the key down inside without forgetting it when you leave.

Their coffee, food, and confections are all shareable sizes. The coffee is served nice and hot! The space is easy to reconfigure for small groups or for sitting alone. Parking isn't the easiest but it's also not terrible. Plenty of light, fantastic art, friendly and knowledgeable staff who work together.

Update: the little bookstore that could (and did) get me through the worst of the last two pandemic years: huge thank you!

I love this little, local bookstore. They don’t always have what I want in stock, but can get whatever I need post haste.
The staff is friendly, and the prices are the same or just about comprable to amazon.
I picked up my most recent order today, and depending on how long this pandemic lasts, they’ll continue to be my go-to source of entertainment :)

Our local go-to for books. Easy to order online and pickup in store. They'll order anything they don't already carry. Staff is all so kind. Membership adds a discount which is great. The layout is tight but still easy to navigate.

Sick place with great layout and collection of offerings. Can't wait to go back.

Great little bookstore perfectly located on the corner of Elmwood! Get a cup of coffee next door before you go in and browse. They have books labeled with a hand written description of why it's an employee's pick and a solid selection of all genres for such a small store. My first visit here was 2017 and I try to stop in a couple times a year.

Absolutely fantastic bookstore. Great variety and they're willing to order anything! Helpful staff and great atmosphere, I loved their welcoming signs.

Wonderful independent book store. Stacked with books, both popular titles and some hidden gems. Staff has always been helpful, in person, by email and on the phone. They provided exemplary service during COVID, helping us get the books we wanted to make our daughter's Christmas and birthday special, while making sure their customers and staff were as safe as possible. They make it a pleasure to shop local!

Fantastic poetry section, and a great selection of American-written memoirs and essays. A gorgeous wall of current fiction titles, and the staff are happy to order in anything they don't already stock. For book-lovers, their membership is worth it!

Organized and mildly chaotic when it comes to the amount and variety of Books available! All ages and walks of life friendly! Always expanding collections of newer publications and the staff is a treat to chat with and get recommendations from!

Buffalo's best bookshop! It's a joy and an experience to shop here. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy or judgmental. They are always happy to order books that are not in stock and have a really great selection of books in stock in all sorts of genres. I have been shopping here for almost 20 years!
