The Yellow King Games and Hobbies

The manager made this a memorable experience, I had a pleasant conversation about a downturn in popularity for a certain game amongst other things but after taking my time perusing my wife and son came in. My 2 year old boy was naturally interested in everything but generally minded his manners. The manager showed uncommon kindness to my son and was very polite to my wife. Wanted to put that up front, rest of the review as follows:

First time visiting this hobby store and was impressed with the wide range of D&D related products, from official books to 3rd party content, better die selection than most places, unpainted and pre-painted minis. Most products were at MSRP and some had creative discounts. Good tabletop selection overall with all of the common/popular games being present and quite a few lesser known as well. It doesn't provide a large space to play from what I saw but I imagine about a dozen people can play comfortably. I'll definitely be returning here for my tabletop needs.

Seriously though, excellent selection of games and accessories as well as tables to play on. Prices are fair and you can support local.

Great selection on a variety of games. We went in for MTG and the guy running, and I assume who owns the place, was very helpful and even thru in a few free singles for us. Will definitely be back! Looks like an excellent environment to meet people who enjoy the same games and learn some new ones too. Thanks!

So many times I have drove past this little game store, so one day I decided to stop in and check it out. I will say that the lack of any parking spaces was disappointing, however aside from that I was greeted by a friendly shopkeeper as well as regulars. This place has a great selection of games and character minis to choose from. As well as good prices. All and all if you happen to be in the area and are a fan of tabletop games stop in and check it out.

Great selection of board and card games. Owner and staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable! Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to find fun party games or expand their current collections.

They do host plenty of events with board and card games as well, many times I have been in the store there was always something going on. Makes a great hangout spot too!

I work with at-risk youth, who are very much into D&D. When I started the job they very much wanted to play, and not only that, but have me be the Dungeon Master! I didn't know much of anything, and went to The Yellow King for advice. Mark was amazing in getting myself started in tips, as well as setting me up with the basics. Since then, I have been doing well in starting a campaign for my kiddos, as well as donating some items to our non-profit organization to help. I can't thank Mark enough for his help. My kids have become very engaged in the game, and I have been too! If you're a nerd looking for a home, this is the place. Not only is the store filled with unique gaming supplies, it also has a wholesome cozy felling. Support your small business, as this store really is a hidden Colorado Springs gem.

The Yellow King is a great place to go for miniature figures. There is such a wide selection, and a lot of board games as well. The owner is friendly whenever I have gone in and helpful! To be honest, it is a little dusty/ not as clean as some of the more recent stores. I'm a clean freak so that's my only complaint - it is a really lovely store and we go there almost exclusively now for miniatures. Would 100% recommend.

I came here per the recommendation of my friend Dakota who said it was a great place to get magic the gathering cards. There is a great selection of new and used cards for very good prices and the man who helped us was so kind and informative. We will definitely be coming back soon

Excellent local game shop with a tremendous variety of board games, dice, figures and novelties for sale. Mark, the owner, is a great guy and will assist you with your needs. FYI: The Yellow King hosts games on different days and times including Magic, Dungeons and Dragons, and more.

This is a hidden gem of a game shop in town. There is a wide variety of merchandise to check out, from D&D style playbooks to miniatures for a variety of series, board games to cards, and dice galore. There are even game nights for those interested in hanging out and getting into a good new board game or even trying out a D&D session with the regulars. Any game enthusiasts should definitely drop by and check this place out with in the Springs.

Great atmosphere, tons of games to choose from and plenty of space to play whatever suits you. Mark was especially helpful and his knowledge of game history helped me pick up casual games for my family and boommark some meatier games for my friends. Highly recommended!

This place is great! They have a solid croud that is very open to new players if you want to get into dnd and have not played before. They even have a kids game night too! You sign up for game beforehand on their facebook page. A big magic the gathering croud too, however I dont play myself.

Huge selection of merchandise... The absolute place to go in springs for anything card game/board game/comicbook related. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and they encourage people of all ages and skill levels to chill and hang out.... Card Games and tournaments happen almost daily... Overall one of my favorites places in Colorado Springs to spend an afternoon as long as I have plenty of time... Because I get lost in this store for hours... It's indescribable how easy a person can get lost in the fantasy of their choice while inside this store.

Amazing game store. Smaller, but has just about all you could want. Owner is incredible and the game nights are a lot of fun. D&D nights are put on extremely well here.

A great place with late hours that specializes in role playing games. Tons of table space and stuff you can buy for d&d along with a few other role-playing systems. If you go for d&d then you are in luck! There are a ton of people playing. If you are there for any other rpg then you may have to put together the group yourself.
