Once upon a time, I found myself in a small town where everyone was talking about this magical store called "The Lazy Shoppe." I couldn't resist my curiosity, so I decided to step inside and see what all the fuss was about. As I walked through the doors, a cozy and inviting atmosphere surrounded me. The shop was filled with all sorts of interesting items, each with its own story to tell. I couldn't help but feel intrigued by the mysterious energy that filled the air. While exploring, I stumbled upon a hidden corner where a wise shopkeeper greeted me with a warm smile. They handed me a small box and told me that inside was a special crystal with ancient healing powers. They said it had the ability to unlock the hidden potential within me. Curiosity and hope filled my heart as I opened the box. Inside, I found a beautiful, shimmering crystal. Holding it close to my heart, I closed my eyes and embraced the moment. Suddenly, I felt a surge of energy coursing through my body. It was as if a spark had been ignited within me. Slowly but surely, I regained control over my once paralyzed limbs. The crystal seemed to have awakened my body, allowing me to walk, run, and dance once again. Gratitude overwhelmed me as I thanked the shopkeeper for their extraordinary gift. They simply smiled and reminded me that the true power had always resided within me. I left the store with pride, I then was hit by a car and became paralyzed again 😔

Great prices you wouldn't know you were shopping downtown. The customer service is great and they remember their regulars. I’ll shop there before anywhere else downtown.

Joseph is the man! I've lived in Athens for around 20 years now, so I've been here since day one of this shop and all I can say is that the manager right now is the best manager it's ever had. Any issue I've ever witnessed while this man's there, it's been resolved quickly and quietly. I just hope he's getting paid what he is deserved. I hope you see this, dude!

Love their new location! Staff is super friendly, nonjudgmental, and very accommodating. We had to buy some gum here and couldn't find a price tag. The sales clerk was really nice about price checking it for us and stopped to give us some store history while we checked out. Also, they have a huge selection of food, drinks, and other grab and gos!

Joseph is an ABSOLUTE delight. I’m really awkward and thought I was being inconvenient and annoying but he was nothing but nice and didn’t make me feel rushed or like I was wasting his time. Hands down one of the best people I’ve ever encountered in customer service. I was pleasantly surprised and will now shop there more frequently because of this experience.

This convenience store is a perfect representation of the messy, chaotic, alcohol-scented side of Athens that UGA parents adore turning a blind-eye to when they come to town for football games. The weird back section that isn't formally closed off but I'm still not 100% clear on whether or not customers are allowed to enter adds a quaint, local charm to the Lay-Z shopping experience. Bonus: if you're a restaurant worker in Athens and are also super annoying, this is a great spot to run to for cigarettes, or a wide variety of other random items you can tell your boss you urgently need, three times a shift.

I love this little place; I live right next door so it is so nice not to have to go get my car and drive to the store every time I need something. They have a large variety of products and are also open almost 24/7 which is very convenient.

Great selection of drinks and snacks, Boars Head meat sold here.
