Mountain View Sports Fly Shop

Simple locally owned fly-fishing shop with high-quality brand equipment and apparel. Limited but a great selection of firearms. The staff will be more than happy to help you in a friendly manner as well. Also, one of the few places with Lowa boots; albeit very few I saw in store.

Came in for a fishing back pack. They have several names brand ones to choose from. It's nice to buy local food things that you really need. Great selection

My husband who is a great gun enthusiast, was able to consign a few of his guns and purchase his mother-in-law a beautiful wool sweater. A win for everyone!

Such an awesome shop! We come up ever summer for the salmon run and we always stop by to stock up on all the flies we need. the guys are always super friendly and helpful. I’d highly recommend Mountain View Sports Fly Shop to anybody I know!

Awesome fly shop and lots of selection in Anchorage!

Was up visiting and came into this shop. Everyone was super knowledgeable and was happy to help with whatever questions I had. I was thinking about buying a new reel for my 8wt set up and the advice and answers they offered was greatly appreciated. If I come back anytime soon I’ll be sure to stop by again

Stopped in before a fishing trip and I was completely impressed. My first time coming up to Alaska and not only did the staff put me on fish, but they weren’t overly pushy at all on sales. Highly knowledgeable and great customer service! Will be coming back anytime I’m in town

This is hands down the best fly shop and outdoor adventure shop in alaska period!!!!!! The owner personally came to greet me along with the sage representative when I had questions for trophy bone fish in Hawaii. Thank you Mountain View sports. I really like this shop. Lots of good gear and fly tying materials. The gents behind the front desk are helpful, but not pushy on any sales or anything. I have even met the owner and he was very kind and professional, with a real passion for fly fishing.

Keenan was fantastic! I really enjoyed my time spent learning all there is to know about using a fly rod for sockeye fishing. If you are looking for great quality fishing gear, fantastic customer service and some lessons on fishing, this is the place to go!

After struggling to find the hunting boots I wanted in the size I wanted at the big box stores, going to Mountain View Sports was a relief. The staff was great and knowledgeable. They helped me order the size of boots I need and answered all my other questions as well.

The new shop is awesome! Staff is knowledgable and customer service is great. They have even opened after hours for me to pick up some last minute gear for my hunting/fishing excursions. Buy local!

Hands down the most knowledgeable staff in the state, not to mention the friendliest. These guys know what you need for whatever your excursion may be, whether it is hitting the trout streams, salmon fishing, hunting or just backpacking. Mountain View has the information and advice that can only be found at your locally owned and operated sports shop.

Every time I've been there I have the most excellent customer service. They really know their stuff! Have a list of stuff you need for the day and you'll be out of there in a minute. I'm glad to see they have a good selection of Filson!

Best outdoor shop in Anchorage for guides and outfitters. Good service and the fly shop guys are super knowledgeable. We own a lodge in SW Alaska and they are all we use!

Most knowledgeable folks in town for ballistics/hunting and fly fishing. They were the only ones who could figure out how to get a simple, acceptable mount for my large objective scope on my lightweight hunting riflle without having to tap for pic rails.

Very helpful and knowledgeable. Nice staff took time to show us what we needed. Large variety of fly tying supplies. Will be back this summer.
