Clarks Ace Hardware Ellicott City

I visited this location for the 1st time today and I did not expect it to be as large as it is!!

I can only imagine all of the cool things they might have there come spring time!

I would say that it felt like a mix of Home Depot, ACE Hardware, and a Homestead Gardens that I wouldn't mind just floating around in for an hour or so looking at stuff.

Thanks to Ken in the Heating/Fireplace section for invaluable assistance in ordering a number of parts for my woodstove. He made the experience pleasurable and also suggested Genesis Chimney to do the installation of the parts. Both came through with flying colors! Clark's Hardware has a great reputation for personalized service. They lived up to their reputation again! Thank you!

Clean, well organized, helpful staff, quality products, it’s what I nostalgically remember what a hardware store should be.

I usually pass by the big box stores to frequent Clark’s when I need something for the house or the yard. Expectations have to be realistic, they don’t have the variety of the larger stores but they generally have what I need and the prices are competitive.

Big pluses….they actually fill propane tanks, they sell high end tool and outdoor cooking brands, the hardware section is organized and easy to find the right sizes, and the staff know what they are talking about.

Spread the word to support locally owned businesses that are well run!

This place is IT! As soon as I walked into this wonderland of an Ace I was welcomed warmly by the staff! Smiling from ear to ear in amazement of this Vast warehouse that is Ace I was assisted almost immediately and found Exactly what I was looking for exactly where she said! The organization of this place is top tier! Checking out was just as pleasant ( I grabbed a bag of HotCocoa Popcorn straight from the heavens above might I add) and was greeted once again with a beautiful energy James! All I will say is based off of the entire experience from customer care to accessibility and organization I am absolutely coming back here and if you are reading this you should too!!

Clark's Ace Hardware is the local store that has what you need when you need it. The staff are friendly and helpful. The store has a great selection of merchandise at great prices. If I could do it legally, I would declare them as dependents on my income tax - that is how much I patron their store.

This place is great. Super friendly staff that want to help. They carry a large selection of craftsman tools and understand how to make the lifetime warranty exchange a breeze. They also have a big selection of Milwaukee tools.

This is a really nice, large store that seems well organized. I walked in the door and an employee immediately asked what I was looking for and directed me right to it. Overall a great experience and not something you're going to find at the big box stores.

It was quite easy to find items. When I could not find any, the employees were really nice and helpful. Would go again.

Eric, Angela and Shane at the paint counter were AMAZING! They were so incredibly knowledgeable about the different paints, and what adjunct materials we would need for our painting projects. We are honestly going to become Ace customers now based on how helpful this team was for us. Eric went above and beyond by using an external site to really find us our perfect color. Ace is general is also a great place, with a lot of local treats to buy, and just sweet helpful people all around! They also let you have your dog in the store, which Pumpkin loved.

This is the most clean, well organized hardware store I have ever seen! Margaret Clark puts so much care into every item she selects to put on the shelves in order to best serve their customers. I would highly recommend Clark's Ace Hardware for all of your family's needs.

Couldn't have been happier with my grill purchase. Such a friendly atmosphere while shopping and ask for Mike if you want to purchase a grill. Support your local family owned businesses!

One on one service from a knowledgeable staff. It's a lot easier to shop here and the selection is impressive. Really great store. Return policy impressive. I even like the candy choices on the way to cashier. Last thing- the cashier counter is a giant piece of live - edge wood. Very cool.

Sending a huge thank you to the Clarks Ace Hardware in Ellicott City team for helping us with the purchase of our new grill. Despite some rough measurements, the grill wouldn’t fit in the car once we got it outside. This crew quickly mobilized and got the grill out of the box and safely packaged in the car for us within minutes. Great attitudes and stellar service! Thank you!

What a store! They have absolutely everything you need! I especially liked their selection of Jonathan Green grass seed and fertilizers.

Family owned and always helpful. Never have to worry about not finding something, associates are everywhere and always jumping at the chance to be helpful. Even if it means walking you to the other side of the store into another department. Seriously NEVER seen this kind of excellent customer service!!

Very helpful people here. They have a great selection of hard to find items as well as the usual stuff you can find at the big box hardware stores. Their sale prices are also very good. This is a great family run local business.

Dec 2022 update. I noticed recently they have a self service dog wash here. I did not see the wash station, I only saw a sign. This would be a great option in winter months when you would not want to wash your dog outside at home. They provide shampoo and other items to help get Fluffy clean.

Oct 2023 update. Stopped in on the way home from work for an item. Lots of new faces. They hire a lot of high school students. As usual, they were very friendly and helpful. I love locally owned and operated stores like this. I hope they are around for another 178 years.

I bypass a lowes and home depot to get what i need with quality service. Tired of empty shelves and rude folks elsewhere

Nice place, lots to look at. While my husband stocks up on wood pellets, I check out the greeting cards.
