Alameda Natural Grocery

Love hanging out here. It's great for breakfast and lunch. Loads of people watching food and just an all-around pleasant vibe. The herbal and supplements department is top-notch, and there's so many wonderful nitch stores. Also has parking a big plus.

I love this store! Being a part of the Natural health Industry for over 30 years, I have seen a lot of Retail Stores for Natural Health. Alameda is one of the TOPS! And their employee, ROSA, is amazing! Her service and commitment to everyone feeling better and getting the remedies they need to do that ... is nothing short of AWESOMENESS!!! Thank you for such integrity in the Natural Health Industry.

Talk about great Vegan service & options 🛅 the prices are not even over the top! Absolutely love the neighborhood & seating options! Had no choice but to give 5 stars would give eight it's very classy! They got a translator for a woman behind me very quickly who spoke a different language and that was a great example of how to run a good business in my opinion. They have a great selection of sustainable everything from clothes to toileries. Very 👍

Alameda Natural Grocery is the hippest place to shop for groceries in Alameda. In fact, some peeps come from the "mainland" to shop there.

As I entered the store from their parking lot, on the left was a bulletin board with information about music and children. On the right, there was a bakery display case. I couldn't resist getting a large crispy breadstick with seeds, jalapeno and cheese. I also got some  chocolate chip, molasses, and oatmeal cookies--they were so delicious I almost ate them all before getting back in my car.

They have a fresh fish and meat market where there is a butcher to make those special cuts of meat. Also, the animal products come from animals that are raised humanely. You can actually smell the fish before you buy (who wants to buy old stinky fish?) They have a wide variety of foods for vegans, and people on special diets, too. They steer away from chemically processed foods, including GMO. They have a beautiful selection of organic fruits and vegetables including the largest selection of fresh mushrooms I have seen in the East Bay.

They carry just about everything you would expect for a natural food store. Something that surprised me located above their large selection of chocolate bars was some really beautiful large woven baskets. You can see them in my photos.

The Alameda Natural Grocery is an amazing market, also famous for keeping beehives on the rooftop. The classic old Ford dealership building is home to this market and several other smaller shops complementary of the grocery store.

The people were friendly and very helpful. It was inspiring to see people as busy as their bees, stocking shelves as quickly as shoppers were gathering produce and more. ;)

Placed an order for a product that was out of stock.
Received a call two weeks later from a clerk informing me that my request had arrived.

If you're near by take a walk through. You'll find something to eat now and take home. Lots of choices plus healthier grocery store

This is a great natural foods store. Staff is very helpful.

Love all the unique items at this store for grocery and for vitamins. Their bakery is off the charts. The brownie looking cookies are great with nuts and so are the peanut butter cookies. Oh and they have excellent bread there too at the bakery. If you are passing thru Alameda, it is a great stop. I am sure you will find something...

The GREATEST natural food store in the East Bay. I love their fresh food selections, excellent customer service, store layout, produce section, ready made salads, and all the individual little shops, including the butcher shop, cheese shop, cafes, bakery, salad, and sushi shops that outline the inside periphery of the store. I always have a great shopping experience here and the food is always fresh!

I love this grocery, I can find different things that are difficult to buy in other groceries. In addition, you can enjoy the special dishes offered for their small restaurants and the bakery is excellent.

Alameda Grocery is THE cornerstone of healthy shopping in Alameda. The grocery store is immaculate and well stocked. The supplements team is a godsend. Produce is clean, neat and organic. Customer service is amazing and the team is good looking. Excutive team seems to have a pulse on the needs, desires and wants of community. A+ A1 All that. Thank you ANG.

Oh my goodness! So not use to good customer service like this store. Mark in produce is full of smiles and valuable information. I walked down two aisles and employees greeted me with genuine smiles and offerings of service. I was pleasantly delighted. Store offers a lot of organic options. I will definitely return. Whole Foods has competition.

Love this market so much. Excellent staff. Great variety of organic products. Cool market place, and we live the grocery. Lots of vegan options and great craft beer selection. They carry Dr Hops Kombucha Beer.

Great vendors. The tea shop' the Bakery and groceries are great.

A great market for high quality items, with a particularly good meat department, and one that local restaurant tours shop at for their aged meat selections. the food at the store is a little more expensive, and not really for the budget minded. It is however super high quality, and the people that work at the store are very nice

Such a cute little grocery store tucked in the Marketplace with other fun food shops. Their selection isn't super big and can be a little pricey compared to other places (ie. Farmer Joe's). The staff is always very friendly, it makes grocery trips that much better.

They had quality, fresh, organic produce in stock, which was crucial and welcome in the remote end of Alameda on a Friday night. They had all sorts of goodies; raw chocolates, kombucha, beers from amazing breweries, and CBD. They also had essentials and quality eggs, milk, etc. It's a gem here in the rough but real reality of Alameda.
