Zo project is a cute little shop on train st. that's worth a visit! The traditional, handmade paper products are beautiful. I probably spent 45 minutes in there looking at everything.
To access the shop right now (Nov 2023) you have to be escorted into the restricted train track area by a local cafe owner, or you can contact Zo project online and have them meet you at one of the north or south barriers, then go with them to the shop.

Cute little shop with paper crafts and prints. We had to give them a call to come and pick us up from the barriers on the main street which was kind of them. ❣ I bought a lovely print.
We got to see the train as well without having to deal with the train street cafés mafia 🙄.

Relaxed place selling stationary, accessories, and interior decor made of traditional handmade paper. The woman at the counter was very helpful and spoke well English.

Note that it's located on train street, so I recommend contacting the store e.g through Facebook to help enter the area. The train street cafe owners will try to stop you from entering unless you go to their cafe, so having someone help you will make it easier. You can also try telling the cafe-owners that you're heading for the store, and they might leave you alone and let you pass.

We got some beautiful souvenirs, sat down at a neighboring cafe for a couple of beers, watched the train go by and had a great time.

We couldn’t enter due to the street closure but we dropped a message on google maps and the studio responded! Amazing service, in the end they brought some items we looked at online out to the main road and we managed to purchase the products there. Very nice art, and huge pity we couldn’t shop!

Cutest little artist shop. Cool prints. Worth a visit. NOTE: you have to walk the train tracks to get to the shop. If the guard does not let you through, try to contact / call the shop and they will pick you up.

Beautiful shop with a very friendly young girl behind the counter. Bit more expensive than other souvenir shops but the quality and paper story is worth it! I bought some earrings (190K) as a present. And some postcards (50K each, pack of 4 for 180K) which are much better quality than the standard souvenir shops!

If you want to organise a workshop, I’d recommend contacting the as early as possible. I left it too late.

Definitely worth a visit whilst visiting train street

Incredible spot with hand made paper and art! Beautiful work in the train district. A nice spot to stop and check out the local art. These artists capture the spirit of Hanoi on this hand made paper. Great post cards too.

This store has such lovely items. Due to the closure of train street there are problems with accessing the store. I wasn’t able to physically visit the shop but was able to purchase items after contacting them on Facebook and arranging a time to meet just outside the train tracks. The woman overseeing the shop was so lovely and took pictures so I could pick out the items I wanted and brought mounds of postcards out for me to look through. She was incredibly accommodating running back and forth between me and the shop. Not the ideal situation but can’t knock the shop for that, given the situation the service was amazing!

Great shop that uses the traditional method of paper making to create great gifts and paper products (notebooks, art, bookmarks, etc). Very knowledgable and friendly shop, and the owner is very happy to tell you about the work they do that keeps this tradition alive. While there are guards or barriers on both sides of the tracks, if you call the number listed the shopkeeper can escort you to the store from the Điện Biên Phủ side of the tracks. Definitely worth a visit!

Excellent place to learn about Do paper making process and purchase it. They have unique souvenir options as well (cards, paper stacks, bracelets, earrings). Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They also sell prints of art on their paper (170k). A little on the pricey side but worth a visit for a unique gift! They also recommended a visit to Dinh Dong Do villiage which we greatly appreciated.

*If you're intrested in traditional folk art, visit Dinh Dong Ho village (it's about an hour away) where a line traditional folk (Dong Ho paintings) art originated. There are less than a handful of families who are still creating this artwork. At Dong ho villiage you can view the art and purchase a handmade painting on Do paper for a great price (we paid 50k). When I went I was actually able to meet one of the artists. Pay them a visit and make a purchase either as a souvenir or a gift. It's a great way to help support the artists and their villiage.

I did the lantern workshop at zo project and it was a super nice experience! Unfortunately the road is closed and controlled by the police, so you have to call the shop and find a way to meet or get in. Anyway they are very nice and they try to find a solution, so thank you so much!

An amazing space to learn about the culture heritage of paper making in Vietnam. Get hands on with modern and traditional products, all handmade by regional artisans and learn how to promote and preserve these traditions. Special shout-out to Rose ;)

The collection and quality of Duong paper is so good. They explained how these papers are made and showed all sizes of paper like A4,A6 etc and beautiful patterns made on those papers. Definitely worth visiting again.
