If you do the Ha Giang loop, I would highly recommend you to visit this place.
When we arrived, there was an old lady who welcomed us and showed us throughly the process of making linen fabric from plant. The more we learn about the process, the more we admire the effort behinds those products.

The lady who is leading this operation has such an impressive and inspirational story. She was putting a lot of effort on not only preserve the tradition of her ethnic community but also empower the women in her village to live their fullest. She is very open and friendly so you can talk to her and hear her stories.

Each of the pattern on the products do have their own meanings, so if you are interested enough, you can ask.

P/S: you can search “Vang Thi Mai” on google to learn more about her stories. She is also one of top 50 most influential women by Forbes VN in 2017.

This a great place to find out how the traditional garments are made. The process is very long winded and time consuming.

Ms Mai will show you round and can also arrange demonstrations of garment making, traditional games, songs and activities as well as organize meals of traditional fare.

It is well worth stopping in. The products are of excellent quality and very good for souvenirs/ gifts. It is also a local co-op so your support goes straight to the community.

She is so sweet and they make the most amazing fabric. Highly recommended. She is also a Forbes Women award winner
