I was here with a tour guide (Linh Lôc) for a food tour in Hue. He brought me her to try the best Banh Xeo in town, and it was totally worth it. Great vibrant and nice atmosphere with a lot of locals enjoying their time. You can’t miss this place if you are in Hue!

What an amazing little restaurant. The food was 10/10. I don’t even know what my starter was. Some taco like shape filled with pork meat (see in the pictures) and the main was some delicious pork meat with rice. The marinade was sooo good. The woman working there is also very friendly. Could eat here every day as their menu is so big and they have so many different meals you can try every day.

Great freshly made crispy pancake. Family owned and very friendly, very entertaining! They showed us a photo of the restaurant taken more than 50 years ago, during the war.

Really good place to eat and enjoy good atmosphere 😁 Many dishes to choose from and good prices 😁 the waitresses are really awesome, the show is great !

Family run for generations this restaurant has a staunch following with good reason. We came for their speciality pancakes (Ban Xie) a deep fried rice pancake that's topped with salad and sauce. The flavour balance is incredible, especially when paired with a beer. Service and pricing both excellent.
Simple decor with grafittied walls makes it a great late night snack stop.

This is a family-run restaurant since the 1950s. We were warmly welcomed by 4 of the daughters and their lovely mum, who are taking care of the business: a group of very funny intense women who made us have the best restaurant experience we had in Hue. The food was good, and for a good price- but most of all we laughed a lot! The gals took the time to show us how to eat the food, and told us about their family and the history of the restaurant, but were also happy to just discuss about this and that. They also booked a taxi for us to the airport, who was driven by their younger brother, so it was the full family experience! Our only regret is that we did not meet the 2 remaining siblings and the dad...

There are 2 Lac restaurants at the same location. The larger one is the best. It is operated by 6 sisters. The staff are engaging with customers (in English). Food was great. 350k for 3 including 8 drinks. Highly recommend Starter #1 - a crispy pancake filled and served with salad and sauce for 25k.

A must visit before or after the Imperial palace. The service was amazing, I learnt how to eat the traditional Hue food there as they will teach you how to roll a rice paper roll and what sauce to go with the dishes you ordered. The food is only cooked upon ordering so you need to be a little patient, the taste is all good. The beer opener is hand-made and given as a souvenir.
If you want to experience a homely feeling, it is definitely a place to come. 👍

Easy and inexpensive family owned run restaurant. Very nice atmosphere, simple and neat menu with local style dishes. We had 6 beers and stacks of food, it came to 245k. They have staff that speak good English and show you how to eat/prepare dishes if you haven’t done before. If you are after a friendly and welcoming local food experience, this is for you.

Been here 15y ago and now came back with the kids. The service and the hospitality are the best, the food was served fast, fresh and delicious.
The kids said it worth 5*, so here we are...

Great restaurant. Food was perfect, really good price, we shared four starters between two of us so we could try as much of the menu as we could! Really great food and deserves to be as popular as I think it already is!

Great place to try the local Hue specialty of fresh spring rolls. I had the vegetarian option and they were fantastic, plus the lesson from one of the staff on how to properly roll it and eat it. The banana pancakes for dessert were just okay, although the chocolate sauce was homemade which was a plus.

This is a must visit!!! Good clean local food. We got different dishes than some of the well known Vietnamese dishes and they were great. Crispy noodle shrimp, beef with veg, and crispy pork spring rolls and ask for lettuce to wrap the rolls in and dip in fish sauce. So bomb

The women who run the restaurant are some of the most friendly and sweet people I’ve met in Vietnam. Would totally recommend!

The original place since 1954! Incredible food and hospitality. We got to know this place thanks to a street food tour we did with a local Vietnamese woman that works as an accountant and does the tours as a part time job! Be aware that the local next door is not the original place, despite what some travel books might say. Just take a look at the picture on the wall from the founders. So great here! As food lovers that we are, I can only recommend this place!

We first came to Lac Thien 19 years ago and the food today is as great as it was then. Sadly the owner has passed away 6 years ago. Today his wife and daughters run the place. Great food, friendly service. Must try food in Hue

Very friendly and cheap restaurant just outside of the imperial city
Food was great, very authentic as well as on the cheap side
The woman running the restaurant was very friendly, coming to sit with us to talk about where we were from and show us pictures of what the restaurant looked like during the war
