Guest House Bracaj

We are a young couple and spent 3 nights at Bracaj Guesthouese.
It was the best accommodation in Albania that we had (the others were still really good) but Bracaj was just perfect. Located outside of the main touristic spots such as Gjirokaster and Berat, it's a super quite realexed and authentic atmosphere. The next small town is 5 to 10 minutes away by car and you can find some restaurants and markets there. The guesthouse itself has a pretty little garden and an amazing view on the canoyon next to it. The rooms are really pretty, clean and some of them even have a balcony.
The bed was comfortable and we had air-conditioning that we didn't need in September as the temperature was just perfect. The owner and the stuff were super friendly all the time. The restaurant is nice, they serve a delicious breakfast and have some simple but delicious und affordable options for lunch and dinner. When we asked for recommendations about hiking and activities, the owner called a friend who did a private canyoning tour with us the next day and recommended some more places to visit. (In March to August they do Rafting when the canyon has more water.) It's quite useful to have his own car (we came by rental car) to get around and explore places as there are no typical hiking trails with signs or stuff closeby. We can recommend to visit a place called Summer dream restaurant (?) that is closeby.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place!!

We had a wonderful three nights here. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are high quality. The Wifi is excellent. And of course the views of the canyon are beautiful. But above all, the welcome from this warm and generous young couple is extraordinary – they make guests feel like members of the family. As for the meals, everything is home made – honey, butter, yogurt, even the red wine is from the family vineyard. We were very happy here. Highly recommended.

Great spot with magnificent view! The hosts are very nice people. We have a baby, when the baby slept and we couldn’t visit the restaurant, they brought the food, which was also great, to the room.

Awesome experience staying here. Beautiful scenery overlooking the canyon and the hosts really treat you like family during your stay. Highly recommend for an off the beaten path stay while in Albania.

Our expectations were exceeded in every way. Very nice, almost luxurious rooms. Everything is super new. The house that our room was in, was opened in July of 2023, the „older“ first house has been open since 2022.
The family who owns and runs the guest house is friendly and attentative and they‘re doing everything to make their guests feel welcome.

Not sure if we‘ll ever be back in this part of Albania, but if we are, we‘ll definitely come back to this place!

Fantastic family-run guesthouse in superb location, overviewing the canyon. The family will do their utmost best to make sure you have a great stay. Small a la carte menu, which comes from grandmas kitchen.

Make sure to try their own wine and raki, and a canyontour is also a must.

Amazing! Stunning location on the rim of the canyon. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable and very clean. I’m not posting a picture of the room itself because we got in late and crashed and messed it up before I thought to take a picture, but the bathroom is a good representation of the quality. Strong wifi to do work on the deck overlooking the canyon and vineyard. Breakfast is a must. The owner and his family are so kind and welcoming. The owner speaks very good English and was very helpful when asking about things to do in the area.

Small menu in the restaurant, but the food was fresh and tasty. The chicken fillets, however, were a bit too dry for our liking though.

Really lovely hotel. Great views over the Canyon and friendly people that were very flexible. I would recommend you to take a room with Canyon view because that was an experience we never will forget.

We had a wonderful stay at the Bracaj Guesthouse! Wonderful welcome by the owner, gorgeous views on the canyon and a plentiful delicious breakfast.
The rooms are big, everything seems newly built with a beautiful bathroom and great wifi.
The owner contacted us a few days ahead advising us on the driving route, as if you are coming from South (Gjirokaster) you should not follow the Google maps directions, but should definitely drive through Berat. This adds about 2 hours to the journey, but unless you have a 4x4 car this is definitely the way to go.
The access point into the canyon is about 10-15 minute drive from the guesthouse and provides a lovely swimming spot.
If you're visiting the Osumi Canyon, this is your place to stay for sure! I wish we could have stayed longer!

Great hotel in a really amazing location overlooking the gorge. Really welcoming and generous owners and the best red wine we had in all of Albania!

Clean rooms, absolutely comfortable. The service as kind as it gets and very welcoming. The breakfast absolutely delicious and everything we had was so fresh (including milk, bread , petulla and eggs all from the home!!). To make it better we had an amazing view as in the picture below. Absolutely enjoyed my stay here. Highly recommend for a stay and rafting or hiking.

Really beautiful guesthouse with great terrace and view into the canyon. The owner Family is very friendly and there for you all the time. The rooms are new and some offer awesome balconys facing the canyon. If you go to this area, stay there!

My experience at the guest house was AMAZING, I couldn't have asked for better.
the kindness and helpfulness of the owners, the excellent food, the perfect room but above all this fantastic view of the canyon that gave me magical moments.
in addition, the wifi works very well and the price of the stay and for the meals is really affordable.
this young couple puts a lot of love into everything they do and each guest can feel this.
I hope to return to this place someday, my stay was too short. Dear Gentil, thanks to you and your sweet wife for everything.

What a wonderful place! Kind owner, and very good food. The room very clean and awesome panorama.
For who comes from Berat (as me) no problem to reach the place, on the other hand the road after the guest house is available only by 4x4 car. I suggest to spend more than 3 days there to visit all the places around.
The guest house is very recent (7 months) but with a very high quality of comfort. A car place is available.

Very clean and quiet place and very polite people. The view is breathtaking. Having a homemade breakfast at the edge of the canyon and enjoying it while you listen the sound of the river and the birds, is a unique experience. Highly recommend!
