Guesthouse Skënder Selimaj

Extremely friendly, welcoming and hospitable. We arrived twice without prior notification and they made it work. Even when we were sick they made it work in the best way possible. Rooms are good, the showers were perfect and I can only recommend the dinner. We were even given a lift out of the valley and instructions on how to continue from there!

100% recommended, we will certainly be back!

Definitely one of the nicest guesthouses we have encountered during the peaks of the Balkans. Hosts were extremely nice, food was good, the shower was amazing and the rooms were clean. I would go again and definitely recommend to anyone doing the hike.

Everything you can wish for when you are hiking through Albania. Small and clean room. The food was great and more than enough. Also gluten free was no problem!

What a lovely couple! They were so incredibly welcoming. They made us feel right at home. Upon arrival we were shown our room (WITH AC!) and it was just what we needed with a beautiful view of the mountains. The dinner was more than enough to fill us up and very affordable for €10. It felt like a family dinner. He even dropped us off in the morning at the start of the Valbonë to Theth hike!

So glad we stayed there. Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful guesthouse!! Skender mis family are so sweet and really look after you. The food is fresh from their farm (including fresh butter, cheese and vegetables) and they cook authentic, traditional food. They are so nice and even dropped us to the beginning of the hike. Amazing!!

We had an amazing stay with the family who were so kind as to let us put up our tent in their garden for one night. Our hosts were so kind and Skender’s wife not only served us an amazing breakfast, but also started a fire in the evening, so we were warm and cozy in the restaurant. Skender was our guide on the hike to Theth as the pass was still covered in snow in the beginning of May. It was a truly breathtaking (also literally) experience we will never forget. I will be forever grateful to Skender for leading the way and making it a safe and pleasant hike for us. Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness 😊

Nice room with a beautiful view on the mountains. The owners are really kind and the food is good. Wifi was also working. This place is near the Tourism Information and there are a few bars and restaurants around.

Very nice place, enormously friendly host and according to my potato-loving girlfriend “the best potatoes in Albania” for dinner!

Amazing place to stay in Valbona! The people are really friendly and the food in the guesthouse is refreshing. Salad fresh from the garden.

Een super guesthouse! De eigenaren waren heel vriendelijk en de kamer was schoon. Het avondeten was erg lekker en alles kwam uit eigen tuin. Het is erg leuk en lekker om lokale (maar wel toegankelijk) maaltijden te eten. Alles kwam van hun eigen land. De eigenaar was ook zo vriendelijk om ons naar het begin van de trail te brengen met z’n auto.

Wir haben hier nach der Überquerung des valbona Passes eine Nacht verbracht und sind super zufrieden. Die Zimmer sind völlig ausreichend, der Standort ist super. Wie überall hat man einem unfassbaren Ausblick. Das Abendessen können wir sehr empfehlen.
Noch ein Dank an die freundliche Familie, ich hatte mir vorher eine Lebensmittelvergiftung zugezogen und um für die Rückreise das Fieber zu senken haben sie mir Paracetamol und gratis Getränke mitgegeben. Vielen lieben Dank nochmal :)

Habitación triple bastante sencilla pero confortable. La familia es súper atenta, predispuesta y amable en todo momento. La comida está exquisita. Se nota que es todo casero. Las visitas inmejorables. Lo recomiendo
