This was the first year in the Nursery School for my little girl. It was very hard to find an appropriate one, because as all mothers I guess...I need to find the best place for my child. Now that the school year is ending, I can say for sure that she will be there again next year, because I'm very happy that she feels happy there and she wants to go with pleasure, she loves the staff and I can say for sure that they are very professional, caring and with a great communication with children and parents too. I'm looking everyday the education skills developing on my little girl and the desire she express for independence, like for ex. she never liked before to eat by herself and now she loves to do it with the fork and spoon, she come from Nursery and she do by herself the process of taking out the shoes and washing her hands. This little things makes me feel good and proud as a parent too. So I highly recommend the Nursery School!

I have worked in the school for about 5 years and have gained a lot of experience and all I can say is that its the best lovely SLT team, and the colleagues are great and very supportive to children. Everything functions like your in the UK. A childs education always comes first in its doors. I feel valued to have woorked in such place.

Highly NOT recommended this school. As a person who is searching for a job you should be ready for threats, lack of communication and disorganization and have zero respect. Poor management and deduction for everything. They mention in the contract that you have 5 sick leave days but it’s not true. They don’t care about teachers’ health, they mention 1 hospital but you have to go there during your working hours and you will be deducted for those hours, it doesn’t matter if it’s just for 30 minutes, they will cut money anyways. Even though you have your medical certificate you will be deducted 20% for that day. So most of the teachers worked sick.
Also, be ready to serve your students at the “restaurant” and get dirty. The food isn’t that good and you have zero privacy while you eat. You have 5 minutes max to finish your lunch and then start to clean up after the children. There is just 1 black/white scanner for the whole school, the other one you need to ask in advance and wait till the secretary prints it out for you. But, in case, if she doesn’t like you don’t expect too much from her. A playground for children doesn’t exist so children just sit for 40 minutes and get bored. AND, the most important thing: don’t expect to get your VISA, residency, permit, or bank card! They LIE, even though they mention it in the contract, you will NEVER get it or if you do it will cost you thousands of euros and nerves if you decide to leave earlier. And don’t forget the part in the contract which says etc. ETC. means administrative costs, the time admins spend their “time” to do their job they will deduct from you. How much? It depends on their own preferences. It varies from 500 to 700 euros. By the end of the year, you will leave with nothing, followed threats, and a ruined emotional condition. As a parent, try to find another school, there are plenty in Tirana.

Steer away from this school as both a teacher or a student. As a student, you can be asured profit is the only thing the heads care about. Students are never the priority, which is seen on facilities, attitudes, teacher rotation (foreign staff roation is around 90%), quality of events and teaching, access to services is non existent, especially counceling, proper gym equipement, canteen with decent food, school trips are all cheap and barely acceptable. As a teacher, be ready for most of your contracted conditions not be met, especially insurance, visa, bank accounts and other things that are common sense. Bonus point is, on your last salary the school will deduct 50 to 90% of your salary on false pretenses and will not hesitate to use threats, lies and witholding of your documents or reccomendations as a weapon. AVOID AT ALL COSTS and save yourself the stress.

If you have the option, look elsewhere for a nursery.
In our child’s nursery group the main teacher changed in the middle of the year and the school never gave any notification; we eventually figured it out ourselves. I can totally understand that teachers leave unexpectedly and wouldn’t blame the school, but they should at least notify parents and let them know what their plan is! That they didn’t is a clear warning sign to me that there are some deeper issues within the management and that teachers leaving is probably so common they try to hide it from parents.
For most of the rest of the year, the class was taken care of entirely by the local support teachers, who I believe are caring and loving, but they were being asked to take care of too many kids to have a meaningful connection with individual children. There was no clear person to contact for how our child was doing, no contact info for the teachers, poor communication all over. Our child was never happy going and rarely had anything to say about her day, in complete contrast to where she went before and after.
If I could go back, I would just put my child in a local Albanian kindergarten. Same childcare quality for less money. Or just pay more for the more professional options in Tirana.

Unprofessional school. Your child will not get a full school experience for the tuition you pay. A very weak option for Tirana.
