Guesthouse Gjin Thana

Absolutely wonderful place to stay in Theth National Park with friendly and polite hosts. They provide great value food and plenty of it! The garden/dining area is a lovely grape vine covered area with a conservatory for when the weather is bad.

One of the best hotels that we have ever been to. You HAVE to book a room if you stay in Theth - if you can get one. Especially the room with the mountain view is worth every penny.

The room is very modern, clean and well designed, which we rarely encountered in all of Albania. The bathroom/shower is also big and comfy.

Location is amazing since you have an insane view of the mountains, even if you don't have a room with a mountain view, you can enjoy it from the terrace. You even have a direct path for the Theth - Valbona hike which is nice.

The food is also very delicious and all cooked by the mother of the family. We tried a few different meals and everything tasted great. They even have a winter garden when it rains, so you can still enjoy the view while dinning/during breakfast.

The "staff" aka the family is extremely friendly and helpful. They will help you with anything you need. We asked for example for a sandwich for the hike which we got shortly after and it was big and very tasty.

It was such a wonderful 2 1/2 days there which we will never forget.

A truly gorgeous spot. The view all the way down the valley is stunning, but the rooms are really nicely presented, too, and the food and service are both lovely. A special place.

The drive to Theth is narrow, steep, and windy, but the roads are good.

Stayed here one night as we were hiking to the Blue Eye lake and then Valbone next day. Could not recommend a better place to stay. Food was incredible as was the hospitality. Free breakfast was top notch with coffee made from a proper espresso machine.

The food at this guesthouse was incredible! We were camping in the valley but came back here every night for dinner because of the delicious food, amazing views, and great service! We tried a lot of the food on the menu and every time we were blown away (and for such cheap prices)! Many guest houses charged between 10-20 euros a plate but here it was between 3-5. Incredible deals and the absolute best way to spend an evening after a long day of hiking! Really hope to return here someday! Can’t recommend enough!

We loved this place staying for one night whilst walking the Peaks Of The Balkans. Magic sunset at night (see photo from dinner). Fantastic food (possibly the best we had whilst walking Peaks Of The Balkans. REAL coffee and lovely and VERY KIND and interesting hosts. Nice room and good shower. I hope to return. Also check out the sunset we experienced from the terrace after dinner!

Food was 1a! Family owners are wery gentle and friendly. House gets hot in the Warm summer days. But endless top views and landscape is paradise here. THe view from the veranda with the wine roof is fantastic. For Nature lovers..

These guys are amazing. The rooms and the views are amazing. The food is an absolute highlight. Both dinner and breakfast is amazing, and their home produced red wine is a favorite. If in Theth, stay here, eat here.

Very nice place. The staff is super nice and the food is delicious. Prices are very low.
When we asked for anything they gave it to us.
My dad had a broken shoe. He asked for glue and the man was like: "yeah, wait 2 hours and I will get it." The glue was actually super strong so, Faleminderit.

Amazing place with a breathtaking view. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. Their food is delicious and very affordable, plenty of vegetarian options too. We had a great time there, I would gladly go there again.

We had a fantastic stay at Gjin Thana guesthouse! A truly authentic experience in an extended house that has been owned by the hosts family for multiple generations (compared to many other properties that have sprung up in and around the village due to the increased demand in recent years).

The hosts were wonderful and friendly and the local food was delicious. The garden and eating area is very relaxing and has great views over the valley.

The dinner we had was absolutely delicious (we tried only vegetarian options: fergese, grilled vegetables, potatoes, stuffed peppers) and we had an amazing view on the montains. I would definitively recommend the restaurant!

I cannot speak highly enough about the beauty and kindness of the property and family of this guesthouse. It will forever hold a very special place in my and my wife's heart, and we sincerely can not wait to return. Truly and unforgettable experience!

STAY HERE!! You will not be disappointed. We stayed 3 nights in Theth at guesthouse Gjin Thana. This guest house is ran by the wonderful Thana Family. The nicest and most caring people I ever met.

We stayed in the balcony room and it was modern, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was included. It was huge and delicious. Everything is homemade and all the ingredients are local and fresh. They even had a fancy coffee machine for delicious cappuccinos every morning.

We kept saying we will try another guesthouse for dinner, but always ended up eating at our guesthouse. The food was so good and inexpensive. They have a delicious house wine that they make themselves.

We brought our own supplies to make sandwiches but you can order sandwiches to go from the guesthouse to bring on your hike.

The location is perfect. It’s on top of a small hill. Therefore you have a beautiful view of the mountains no matter where you are on the property. They have a private trail in the backyard that will lead you to the Valbona Pass trail. Only a 5 mins walk from the only market in Theth.

To get here from Shkodër, contact the guesthouse and they will arrange transportation for you with the minibus. If you rent a car, you can park on the property.

Make sure you bring in enough cash. The whole town of Theth is cash only, including when you pay for your stay at the end. There are no ATMs.

The Thana Family really pushes to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Theth was an amazing place and i wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.

Just WOW! Great welcoming Family, great breakfast and dinner, super clean rooms with comfortable beds. English is also understood and spoken fluently, the family will help you out with all questions. We also got our laundry done, what a great Service! The hikes nearby are amazing! Highly recommended.

We did a long day hike in the Theth Valley and this guesthouse was the perfect spot to rest and gather ourselves for the hike to Valbonë the next day. The hosts were wonderful. The room was comfortable. Both the dinner and breakfast were amazing! Great terrace for hanging out and having a meal.

Located on a hill with a beautiful view from the terrace, very relaxing and quiet. The owners are the most helpful people I’ve ever met. Breakfast was also delicious and my packed lunch was the best on the entire trip.

The guesthouse stay was the most pleasant experience ever - warm, cozy, with lots of heart. We absolutely loved it!! Thank you for hosting us :)
