Highly recommend the hike while in the Theth area! You can walk from Theth or drive to the restaurant stop point and walk from there, though I recommend the full hike (~4.5 hour round trip not including breaks). The views are incredible and the swimming hole is awesome!

Very very worth the 40 minute odd hike there. Typical Albanian style not exactly well signed, so ask along the way that you're heading in the right direction & once you reach the bridge one may think it's the Blue Eye but it is a further 3 minute walk in front of the farmhouse & down. Swim wise, given the cold water, best to have that cathartic dip where the bridge is. Absolutely stunningly clear water. Even the beginning of the trek at the cafe across the 1st bridge, it is stunning. Then you cross a rickety 2nd bridge accessed from behind the cafe.

Worth the 45 minute walk (some short narrow and steep sections) from the cafe in the photos past the first falls right to the blue eye at the end. Photographers dream the whole way, wish I had a camera (and was a photographer 😅).

This Blue eye is way better than the one south next to Saranda.

It’s way less crowded, the hike to go there is very nice. It takes about 45 min- 50 min as you’ll stop on the way. It’s amazing and quite easy one, so do t hesitate to go with your family/spouse.

The blue eye is beautiful, the water is pure blue, you can swim, it’s super cold though.

Flipping amazing place, worth the hike up to it even in the scorching heat, the water will certainly cool you down plenty. So beautiful and relatively quiet, mostly unspoiled. Don't miss visiting the cafe right at the top, take in a cold drink overlooking the amazing waterfalls.
If you're feeling brave, try a jump off the bridge before the very top pool, it's quite high but the water was deep enough to break the fall

I saw conflicting reviews so want to leave fresh 2024 May experience. If you have a car, you can easily drive to the Blue Eye parking lot - the road is great and parking was free. From the parking lot it's about 30-45 minute hike to the Blue Eye. The hike is not hard per se but at times there are steeper ascents and descents so beware of that. Definitely doable with a normal fitness level.

Blue Eye itself is beautiful and peaceful. Take some time to enjoy the serenity and views.

Absolutely incredible - a must visit for anyone staying in Theth! There's a cafe at the top, with an amazing menu, some great food and cold drinks for those that venture in the warmer months. I recommend swimming - super cold, but you'll have bragging rights with the locals who love to listen to your adventures 😁

Awesome spot to for a short hike, would recommend driving to the entry point as opposed to hiking. I’m not a big fan of hiking to things that can be driven. There is cafes and water spouts at the entrance. Water is cold, perfect for a good 5 min plunge.

Incredibly beautiful!!! We hiked from Theth and it was so beautiful surrounded by mountains and the river! There is a shop selling drinks and a restaurant at the blue eye itself! We didn't have breakfast before and think that 1 big bottle and banana each is enough. But no, we end up having lunch there. We are too chicken to jump into the blue eye but a few people did. It was so cold and we hiked all day that it was cloudy too. The direction can be so confusing! We were almost lost but we met some people also walking and they guided us.

Wonderful hike, lots of people so better to go later before dark or early morning, it’s free, park at the restaurant at the trail head. When you arrive there is a restaurant at the top of the blue eye. The food was bad and ingredients old…except the fresh cherry and grape juice.

The Blue Eye itself is definitely worth to visit. But also the path to the Blue Eye has fantastic views and beautiful nature.
I suppose in the late afternoon the place is less crowded compared with lunchtime/early noon. We reached the Blue Eye at around 5pm and were the only visitors there.

One of the best things you should do in Albania 🇦🇱 is to visit this place. Paradise ⭐ !!! 1 hour approximate Hike you have to do from the bottom till the Blue eye area. The water is ice cold but it's pure and blue.

since the tarmac road was built the best of three Albanian so called Blue Eyes is crowded with hikers. Still worth a visit. A couple great places to take a dip in the always freezing water. Make sure you follow the trail all the way as some tourists stay at the river natural pool near the bridge. There's another 5 minutes walk after that.

We hiked from Bujtina Miqësia to blue eye. An intermediate trail that requires good shoes and a sunhat. The last part from the parking lot to blue eye is touristy. We arrived late afternoon and met loads of people departing. When we arrived it was a pleasant amount of tourists, but I can imagine that during rush hour that it would have been crowded. The water is so crystal clear so if you are like me and can tolerate the cold remember your swimming goggles.

Defently worth jt. Parking on the foot of the hill is 3€. You Can't drive all the way up. It ends half way ( for offroaders)
Path doesnt take 3 hours for young men. More like 1 hour. Water is cold but doable for jump ins

Beautiful clear blue pool in the river. Well with the 45 min walk from the road.

Tough 10km hike from Theth on a hot day! But the terraine is easy enough, with the steepest part on the way up to the Eye from the parkinglot. But luckily it was worth it and most people left as we arrived so we could sit on the rocks and enjoy the view. I can imagine as tourism increases it will become too crowded in there

Blu Eye in Theth is one of the best things about your trip in North of Albania. To get there, you have to walk or hike for about 45 minutes to 1 hour from Nderlysaj, but it's totally worth it, especially on hot days. When you reach there, you can take a swim in the water, even though it's very cold. The water's color is amazing, and the view is really beautiful. I highly recommend visiting Blu Eye if you go to Theth.

Wow…!
We did a hike from Theth to Blue eye, it took us 6 hours of walking in total (19km).
If you come here you will never forget it, believe me.
The amazing 2C water was so nice! The scenery all the way just mesmerising!
BTW: even if u travel by bus to the city near The Blue Eye, don't just wear slippers (as many people did), it's still 1,5km hike up the rocks and then down to the lake. Don't underestimate the nature 🙂.

Very beautiful place, but I’ve seen many comments saying it was an ‘easy hike’ to get to the Blue Eye. It was not. There was lots of climbing involved. I’m pretty sure ‘easy’ would be a flatter smoother walk. This was neither. Come prepared with proper hiking boots etc. I met a woman on the trail who had fallen and seriously injured herself. The Blue hole itself was gorgeous, but the water was absolutely freezing. Way too cold to swim in. Also there is a very dodgy bridge you can cross when you get to the Blue Hole to get to one side of it. I see it as a major hazard and it needs to be sorted asap. We dipped our toes and splashed water on our faces. That being said, very beautiful nature and worth visiting if you’re in this area.
