Achen Lake

The view of the lake is astonishing.
Riding the bicycle along the lake was a very fun activity. We also found a small rope park near the west-northern shore that the kids loved, it is located near a small church. We saw lots of ducks in the lake 🙂🦆🦆🦆🥇. Plan a half day here, a great activity for the whole family.

Super nice lake. Should visit with family and kids. They really love this place. Lot of option for hiking for both kids and adults. Some hiking are difficult for kids . You can see lot of water falls while hiking here. Boating is another good option . It’s really worth to boating. Sunny day will be the best time for hiking. There many restaurants. Parking place. Are bad even with paying. Many option for kids playing. Sunny day will be crowded. But hiking path are not crowded. So you can enjoy a lot. Need visit many time to cover entire area

Achensee or Achen Lake is in Tyrol, Austria. It is a beautiful place with skiing areas near the lake. There are many different trekking and biking ways.

Beautiful place for hiking, swimming, scuba diving, sup, etc.

Unfortunately or fortunately we were witnesses of the thunderstorm over the lake. It was smth really spectacular. You can see this on the attached 2 short videos.

I visited this area in August: sunny weather, tourists from many European countries, and a typical vacation atmosphere. I truly recommend the trail surrounding the lake. It's 22.5km in total, with the left size a typical mountain hike, while the rest easy and pleasant. Sailing a top attraction with SUP quite popular.

Wonderful lake that is absolutely beautiful.

Located between the Karwendel Mountains and the Brandenberg Alps, Lake Achensee is extremely popular. It’s just beautiful. From Munich it’s almost a 2 hours drive but the views there are spectacular. This lake is very popular with surfers, windsurfers and sailors and is playfully known by locals as the “Sea of Tirol”. There are swimming areas along the shore. Many restaurants and cafes surrounds the lake. You have many parking spots. You can either take stroll around the lake or take the cable car up the Kandelwal and do a hike.

Very comfortable and cheap accommodation (I recommend to have Alpenverein card) with great views and good food. Best Kaiserschmarrn and and burgers I’ve had.

An insanely beautiful lake. One of the most scenic I’ve ever seen. Was an absolute joy to stay here.

A piece of heaven on earth, I can say that lake is one of the best lakes I have ever seen in my life. Also, I swam there despite of the cold weather.

Love this place. We did the whole trip, around the whole lake, and I really recommend it. I took us 7h, but we had lunch in the middle.

In a word, amazing. Crystal clear water against a beautiful backdrop. We visited on a hot summers day. It wasn’t overly busy where we chose to sit out and plenty of parking nearby (opposite the boat terminus).

The lake is beautiful but the view above the clouds is spectacular. Take the cable car up and take in the view!!
