Sura Masjid

It is a very beautiful and historical place. Mosque of yesteryear. But not updated yet. Still many people look around here.

I saw it when passing the area at night , decided to go there . It's a nice small Mosque . I love the size of this Mosque. The beautiful Gate and teracotta work on the wall of Mosque . The surrounding atmosphere are also good . If you travel Ghoraghat must see place

A wonderful archeologically important place to visit. On a vast landscape of croplands, the sixteenth century mosque stands apart beside a huge pond with its terracotta engravings. It proves the north of Bangladesh is so rich in archeaology.

The Sura Mosque is situated in the village ChorGasa under Ghorahat Upazila in Dinajpur District, about 6 km from Upazila headquarters. The mosque stands on a raised mound of earth and is approached from the east by a flight of steps. It has a single dome over one large square room, and a verandah that has three domes. It has a 4.87m square Prayer chamber flanked on the east by a 1.82 m wide foreroom and measures externally 8.53 m by 12.50 m. At one time it was surrounded by high walls, which is a style otherwise unknown in Bengal.

This is traditional emarat...to much beauty of architecture.... With makers idea...its not possible to new generation makers...
To much amaizing and historical...
But not sure who is the stubliser...

Its a historical place at Ghoraghat upazila in Dinajpur District called "Sura Moshjid".

A historical place in Dinajpur. It's offside from main road but just beside of a road. The handicrafts painted on the wall of the masjid is mind blowing. A true artist would find the importance & dedication after the crafts. May allah grant him jannah who made the masjid looking beautiful. There is a pond & a Eidgah beside the masjid. Some graveyards are situated surrounding the masjid.

The Sura Mosque is situated in the village ChorGasa under Ghorahat Upazila in Dinajpur District, Bangladesh.An inscription from the time of Alauddin Hussain Shah, dated at 910 A. H./1504 A. D. was discovered in the village Champatali, a few miles away from the place. It records the construction of a mosque, and if this inscription describes the mosque at Sura, the year 1504 A. D. is the date of its construction.
