Nice place to know and close to Brussels. Stella Artois factory closed on Sunday but deserves walking around the city.

Amazing historical place, vast square with shops and snack bars available, also enough space for childeren to play freely and have fun.

One of the landmark Square in Lueven, very beautiful surrounded by well maintained old buildings. And the library building itself is so magnificent, good place to visit.

Ladeuzeplein is an iconic square in the center of Leuven with a curious statue of an upside down beetle on a needle. It's immediately surrounded by the library, KBC bank, and a lot of cafés and some places to eat.
Usually the square is empty and offers a beautiful view of the library, but whenever there's Easter, summer, carnival, or Christmas events, not to mention the weekly Saturday morning markets it becomes full of stalls with activities or things to buy.
During days that there aren't any events it's a great place to rest, enjoy the sun, or meet up before heading to the library.

Small tip: there's outlets on the transformer boxes at the edge of the square, and if you're a student/lecturer you can connect to the Eduroam WiFi with your own organization's credentials so you can charge your devices and enjoy free WiFi.

You will be impressed by the charm and beauty of this student city. The square is surrounded by well-preserved old buildings and gives the city a sense of history and character.

I arrived on Friday when there was a market day. It was lively, full of people roaming around.
The University Library is dominating the square. There is a tower from which there is a wonderful 365 view over Leuven

I had the opportunity to see some fabulous architecture in Brussels and Leuven on my first visit to Belgium where I found the people so friendly so ill be back.

A really breathtaking place with rich history and hogwarts like feeling. Staff is kind and very helpful.

This square is used for numerous occasions like markets, sporting events, amusement parks, and many more.
Even in the rare case that you find it empty, the area is still really attractive for making photos of the beautiful buildings around it.
For some reason there is a gigantic pierced beetle in the centre of it, but it's probably the thing that makes the location the most unique.

A must see place in Leuven. The library and Totem in one place. There are also banks you can sit on and enjoy the moment

A very interesting plaza with rich history that I advise you dig up yourself before going there. The municipality also plans many events during the year so it is worth checking these out in advance!

Classic structure, beautiful edifice. I hadn't time to explore the inside so much as I needed to go for conference plenary session. And, yes! This building which is decorated with gold brought back ugly colonia memory - the Congolese experience. This is the main library at KU Leuven Belgium.

Open square in Leuven nearby the city park. Main points are the nice view of the university library and the diverse events held on the square. Very fun during the September kermis. Also there's a beetle with a needle statue.

Very nice place, the story about the place left me really bamboozled. I enjoyed every moment I spent there and I'm hoping to come back soon. Lovely place, good vibes and beautiful people. Perfect to visit on a Sunday morning with a baguette in your left hand and a glass of red wine in the right hand.
