Wonderful, beautiful, huge!!! place where you definitely need a few days to see everything, we parked near the church, it's 10 minutes walk from there, we bought tickets online, we started a circular walk through the forest, spent for more than 3 hours on the path and we were in a hurry to catch the time for cave visit, along the way there are the buffets with refreshments, toilets are in the forest or several are on the route too near the buffets, the site-map is very well made, we saw many animals, the most beautiful were giant bears and white wolves, I highly recommend it for the whole family, we were so busy as we were not able to vist the museum... it is impossible to see everything in one day...

It was amazing! What a wonderful experience! We spent a week in the Ardennes and it was wonderful. Really super interesting and very beautiful, real mother nature. The staff is very friendly and they do their best. We had a young lady as a guide for our tour. She did her best to speak Dutch, but in my opinion she did very well. She gave a great explanation about the caves and fun facts. This is absolutely recommended. We also did a safari tour and that was also great fun. You also get your own time during the tour. This way you can quietly enjoy the cave or safari. You could also opt for an 8km walking path, I think, but we didn't do that because of the heat. A very beautiful place. This is certainly worth a second visit. However, I do recommend arriving early because it does take a lot of time. For example, to visit the cave plus the safari tour. You can order tickets in advance, but that is absolutely not necessary. We bought our tickets on the spot and were able to go straight in, there was no queue at all.
We really enjoyed ourselves, a wonderful experience. And also the museum was very interesting and a must to do!

Do not skip if you like history and geology, this cave has chambers that are incredibly huge and there's an underground river. The various stalagtites, stalagmites, curtains, pillars and fossiles are cool, there are 14 km of known tunnels.

Also the Prehisto-Han museum is a must see. In the museum there's a lot of history on how and when the cave was found, an antique diving suit and footage of reconstructing archaeological findings and e.g. human jaw bones with marks of possible violence, found in the caves or in the river and ofc historical objects. Watch the 9 minutes relaxing movie to sit down after walking. The museum is included in the wild tour or cave visit ticket.

The tour guide:
NOTE! Languages only Dutch and French but you must let the tour guide know you are an English speaker! You won't get 80% of the info but at least the most important facts and numbers, and the guide was very friendly and encouraged to ask any questions if you were interested, and he answered questions as well as he could. If you know a lot about caves, you don't miss much. And yes, like others said he had his hat for tips at the gate in the end, but we didn't find this offensive.

Difficulty:
There are various options for different types of tours. We took the 2 hour "in depth" tour, first with an antique'ish tram and then in to the cave. Approx. 1 hour walk but 1,5 altogether, bc there were a lot of stops when the guide talked, so you could rest for a while. Some stairs, but basically suitable to older people as well, just bring good shoes.

The tunnels and halls are large and not claustrophobic, not even with a lot of people but in September 2023 there might have been a lot less people.

The tour moved quite fast so you have to be quick with photos, flash not allowed. The lightning was good enough everywhere and the lightning changes are automatic. This means lights might go completely off for a couple of seconds, but this was not done to scare people.

Lovely day trip. Our preteen daughter was impressed by the animals and enjoyed the guides tour in the cave. There’s a playground and stalls where you can buy basic snacks. Also possible to bring your own picnic.

Super nice to see wild animals, but some animals still have limited space while the area is huge. The caves of han are amazing.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. The tour was okay, honestly would have preferred to just stroll around by ourselves, because the tour went a little too fast in my opinion, and would have liked to take more time. But I have no words for what an amazing experience this was. Absolutely beautiful and definitely recommend visiting if you get the chance. The light show in the cave... Just mesmerizing!! (Pictures do not even do justice of how pretty it was)

We went to Dinant for a weekend and was looking for nearby attractions and found this.
Must say we were surprised by the park and the safari it was really good. It’s a full day activity if you want to take wildlife safari and museum.

Fantastic destination for an unforgettable day out. Starting with the cave tour and then doing the whole walking loop. Great day away from people in a peaceful environment. Highly recommend for anyone looking for something new and different.

A unique experience in Belgium where you would be guided (in French and Dutch) to explore the Caves of Han. You can choose a moderate path (75 minutes) or a longer one (120 minutes). For us the first option is perfect. Violet, our guide was a very good guide. We learned a lot about the cave and its history. We also got to see the light show nearing the end of the guide (included in the ticket price of 27euro), ij addition to getting in the PrehistoriHan museum. Although not cheap, it is worth it.

Great park and lots of nice things to see. Caves are beautiful and provide a nice walk on a day out. Guides are friendly and knowledgeable.

There is quite a large variety of animals on the domain. Best seen when walking the 5km or so trail but also from the safari train/truck, plenty can be seen.

Really a nice outing for the whole family although be aware caves and surroundings distances can only be covered by foot.

We had a great day.

Beautiful animal park and the cave is spectacular. There are rides by car train through the animal park. You can also, walk by foot, to enjoy the nature. The route to the cave is taken by train (historic train) and it's wonderful. There is also a kids playground and a coupla of museums one can visit.

I visited many years ago and it truly is a magical place. Starting by arriving in the village, then taking the single gage train up the little hill flanked by foliage. Onto the entrance of the cave; a narrow walk into high ceilings; onto the high platform to see the light show and the grand finale, the exit by “hobbit” boat into the daylight.

I visited for work so the park was not actually open, but I was shown everything I needed to see and then shown around the park by the really lovely vet. I would love to come back in spring/summer to see the park in all its glory

Very nice experience for all ages. The guided tour into the caves is very interesting, the caves itselves are big and beautiful. The tour lasts an hour and a half during which you see splendid caves and a light show at the end that is spectacular. The domain is very large and you can visit the nature park by foot or by safari bus. Lots of interesting animals to see like bears and wolves and everything's well kept. Easily a day can be spent at the domain. Definitely recommend a visit.

Great place for a family visit. Visit in the morning to avoid long waiting times. For some reason there is a multi media projection half way through that is really not needed, the caves are sufficiently impressive as they are. The animal safari is more suitable for young children but it is also a relaxing ride for the others.

Well arranged and nicely lit walk under the hill with surprisingly spacious caves, running river and light show installations. The walk is arranged in a loop, takes a bit over an hour in 9C temperature, so dress appropriately if you want to feel confortable. Walkway is well maintained, while can be lightly wet at places.
