Great value for money. We had a lovely wooden room with a balcony with view of the old houses in the street. The hotel is in a more quite part of Melnik, so great rest at night. The outside verandah where breakfast is served is superb.

If you want to taste delicious and traditional Bulgarian food your right place is the restaurant of Despot Slav hotel in Melnik. The host will offer you also the right red or white wine for your lunch or dinner. The atmosphere of the hotel is almost like your own home. The place is made in the old Bulgarian traditions and the rooms are comfortable, large, and shiny. I am recommending Despot Slav for your trip to the magical smallest city in Bulgaria - Melnik.

Very nice place with old Bulgarian looks and feeling. Neat room, all the furniture is in one style. Tasty and various dishes (many vegetarian and vegan, also alcohol free beer). Friendly and helpful staff! Good breakfast!

Great value for your money - good location, clean and comfortable rooms and the best part is the outstanding food in the restaurant! You must try the specials - the deer was amazing!

Great place to stay in, while you enjoy the beauty of Melnik and the surrounding area. The hospitality was unbelievable, and I felt part of the Bulgarian history.

Really helpful friendly people! Nice hotel only the WIFI is a bit weak but that's not a big issue for me :-) 3G and 4G available 😁

About Melnik
Town in Bulgaria

Melnik is a town in Blagoevgrad Province, Southwestern Bulgaria, in the Southwestern Pirin Mountains, about 440 m above sea level. The town is an architectural reserve and 96 of its buildings are cultural monuments. With a population of 385, it is the smallest town in Bulgaria, retaining its town status today for historical reasons. It is situated on the foothills of the Pirin mountain range and is overlooked by the Melnik Earth Pyramids. source
