Getting here is not the easiest, that is for sure. The road leading to the beginning of the trail is fine until the last 200 metres where it becomes very rough but there is a 'car park' at the end. We parked further down route and walked the rest of the road.
Good little walk. When we visited there was not much water so the waterfall was more of a slight trickle but there are plenty of paths going different ways to explore the creek. Also, as a lover of flora and fauna, we came across loads and loads of Fire Salamanders, so watch your step! They were all across the paths and plenty more off the path so make sure you stick to the path.

A perfect shot hike with spectacular views if you complete the loop. Great for kids (mine are 5 and 3 years old). They thoroughly enjoyed it.

Beautiful views. The hike is not hard in general. There is actually an alternative trail which is longer but the views are magnificent as well. One can see lots of butterflies and dragonflies in the first part of the trail! The two sheds on the path are in good condition and it's overall safe with protective railings on the steeper parts. The village at the top is small and tranquil with a little restaurant to eat and rest before the walk back. Definitely worth the climb!

The trail is near Sofia. Thus, it's perfect for a one day trip and if you want to escape from the big city. Perfect time to visit - spring, summer, autumn. There is a beautiful waterfall on several levels. Clear and understandable trail signs. At the end of the trail you will find a place to enjoy your sandwiches, water, beer and of course the breathtaking view. We spent around 2.5h going to the top and back (several short breaks included and a big one at the end of the tail). Highly recommended!

Amazing views, especially if you go to Zasele village which is on top of the mountain.
It takes around an hour and a half to go to the waterfall. The waterfall should be fuller in the Spring - during autumn there was barely any water.
Definitely continue and climb to Zasele - the path is below the waterfall - it starts with a few stone stairs. The time to reach Zasele should be about an hour with some breaks, but the views are definitely worth it.

Amazing getaway from the city for a short walk in the nature: enjoy the long Vazov trail with cute waterfalls and peaceful surroundings. Take your dog with you and explore the hidden wood corner just an hour train ride from the busy capital.

Nice climb, passing by the Skaklya Waterfall. Reaching the top takes about 60-90 mins, way down is about half as much. When you reach the rock wall with the waterfall on your left, go left to find the path! The path right is dangerous and leads nowhere. Please also note that the climb takes you through some gorgeous views and is relatively safe, but also is quite strep and exhausting, so it is not suitable for small children.

Very good walk in the forest. Don't forget to pour some water in the beginning as there are no more sinks ahead. Also make sure to get to the top (point 3) as in the start of the village there's a nice restaurant with very cheap prices.

Really magical place. It's really close to Sofia. Perfect to one day trip with friends or family or alone of course. You can go to Gara Bov by train. And the beginning of the Ecopath is about 20 minutes from the Train Station. It's about 30 minutes to оne of the biggest waterfalls in Bulgaria- Skaklyq. Then about 40-50 minutes more at the very top, is village Zasele. With amazing view. There u can take a rest, eat, play, or just breathe. And then back to the begging. The right time to this eco path is spring, because everything is blooming and it's really beautiful with it's nature.
We were January and the waterfall was frozen. But it was beautiful anyway.
It's more enjoyable than hard.
Highly recommend!

An amazingly beautiful but also challenging trail. Took about an hour and a half to reach all the way to the top. There was a really nice waterfall where it was nice and cool. At the top of the trail there are plenty of places to place a blanket and have a picnic. There is also a restaurant but it is usually quite full.

The best time to explore this region is Spring or early autumn.. it is very beautiful there.. The climbing is medium difficulty level and its worthy. Easy to go there from Sofia - with car or train.. just going to Gara Bov and from there hit the paths up.

This trail is a lot of fun to complete. I would recommend going all the way to Zasele Village if you can (the path after the waterfall is very hard for most people due to the number of stairs involved), the views up there, is just incredible!

Wonderful trail and easy accessible from the main road. There is a natural parking place to the right, shortly after the road forks. The trail is 3,5 km each way. It can be steap at times, but the path has rails and steps on the steep locations and its marked well. Moderate difficulty.
