Ruins and foundations of the old fortress and citadel above the new town.
There’s not a huge amount here - a few rebuilt towers and walls, and the long wooden bridge that can then lead towards the cliff monastery a few kilometres away.
There’s some slightly interesting foundations, floors and wells carved into the rock on the top of the hill. It would have been very interesting to have seen this place when it was a proper city.
We came in winter and it was free as No one was there. There is a charge in summer

Indeed a magnificent place. 360 views are stunning. The fortress itself is not especially well-preserved, however there is a nice path around the place to take a walk and take in the views. Keep in mind there are no fences around the cliff, so be very careful with little kids and pets.

Lovely place to visit. There's a few entries to this place but if you follow the signs you won't get lost. Tickets cost 4 BGN per adult or 2 BGN for students. 3 minute walk up the stairs from the parking lot and there you are. Beautiful view, and very interesting. Spent half an hour there as it was a hot and sunny day. I think its a must.

Amazing tourist spot!!! The fortress was built by the Byzantines in the IV century (wow!!) We’re pretty lucky as when we went here, there was no entrance fee. Not sure if it’s because of winter season but it’s for free during this time :)
You’re going to get a lot of information guide from small site and I appreciated it that they have majority in English version so for non-local tourists like me can understand the story behind. Must visit place 👍

Apparently there are two ways to come to this place - some stairs from town-side or forest-gravel-road/path. Google maps guides via forest-gravel-path. It was after rain, washed out huge holes and gaps in road. I wouldn't dare to walk there, but rented car took this challenge like a champ. For big surprise on top we found few more cars parked, so we learned that there more of these crazy-turists daring to drive it. Next to entrance there is even tiny souvenir store. Fortress itself - AMAZING. Stone-carved stairs, view on top - it was just unreal. We were there just after rain - it was refreshing and really nice to enjoy amazing Bulgaria nature view from there

Spectacular view of the town provadia. There are options to go up by the old steps with the car first. And from the town on a modern built stairway.

Beautiful fortress overlooking the little city of Provadia. There is a path that leads to the fortress, starting in the city center, or you can drive to it. Each way brings you to an amazing view. There is no entrance fee to it and it is assessable year-round!

We parked where Google indicated and walked up the stairs for 3 minutes. What was built on the top of the rock is impressive, there are several ruins. The tower and the wooden bridge give a great perspective.

Entrance fee is 4 BGN. It's not part of the famous 100 tourist sites of Bulgaria, however its worth to visit it. The view I spectacular.

Beautiful place. Especially the nature and the bridge where you walk. I can really recommend going All the way on the plateau down to the old cememtary that is built into the Cliff.

Very good panorama views and photos.

The caatle itself is also fine, but its not the Main attraction in my opinion, altough the bridge is quite spectacular

Unexpected and, althought small amout of visible ruins, a beautiful place worth a 2-3h visit. With different weather, the ambiance change dramatically. Perfect for a romantic picnic. Stunning scenery in all perimeter. Watch out for the cliffs if with children

Highly recommend visiting after 3pm. This way youll have enough time to walk around the whole thing, read the info signs and rest at one of the benches while watching the sun set behind the hill in the near distance.
