Koshnitsa Kaleto Fortress

You start walking up to the Arda river and passing over the bridge. It's bit of a steep climb and rained a little so wear good boots, but only about 35mins or so. The climb is worth it. you pas through the cave and shortly after arrive at the fortress grounds. There a many stops/huts along the way and a few different platform's to view off of.

Good trail with gorgeous views. The hike begins on a short gravel path downhill and continues through an uphill green, somewhat maintained trail. You wanna bare right once you get to the yellow signpost for the shorter route. The trail is uphill on a steep route with uneven man-made stairs. Be very careful as some of the steps has no steps just iron rods sticking out (as seen in the pic)! The rails are pretty rotten from water damage especially in the cave area. Plenty resting points on route and an awesome opportunity to try "alpine pendulum - flight based on the principle of a pendulum with a rope anchored on top of a rock arch. Special equipment will be launched from a height of 40 meters from the stone arch of the cave before you will find an unforgettable view over the valley of the Arda River". (Sadly, no one was there when we hiked up). The views are gorgeous, the air is fresh and clean! 4lv to enter paid to the nice guy at the red booth. He sells a great selection of home made jams and unbelievably delicious Jared (water & salt brine) or dried mushrooms. He told us he's a certified mushroom forager (he had a big box full of mushrooms he was cleaning). Don't miss out, it's the BEST mushrooms we ever had! Bring a hat there's no shade up at the scenic viewpoint. Also, no trash cans to be found on route, Porter potty at the entrance only.

There is a very steep climb towards the cave and the fortress, but there are also pleny of possibilities to stop along the route and have a break with a very nive view. The climb is worth it, at the top there are multiple benches and places to rest.

Easy to get to and you can park your car nearby which is great. A group of nice mountaineers offer you to swing on a troll from which you can see beautiful views and also from the viewing platform.
A must go place.

The way to the fortress goes through a little cave. You need about 20 minutes hike on well designated path to reach it. On the way there are a couple of rest places.
Only ruins of the fortress are preserved. There on the top is a viewing platform with 2 benches and a table, and with a stunnig view over the Rodopi mountains and a few villages.

Not a trail you come especially for, but it is fun and beautiful.

Преходът не е много труден, отнема 10мин. По пътеката се стига до първата площадка, след което се минава през проходната пещера и след това има стълби, по които се качвате на площадката където е и знамето. Много е красиво и си заслужава ходенето. След като разгледате може да се върнете по друга пътечка (има табелка "обходен път"), по която слизате през козя пътечка и през гората се връщате откъдето сте дошли :)

Лично за мен пътечката е интересна. Изкачването е средно трудно, понеже не е леко или полегато и е основно стъпала. Но ако човек не бърза ще го качи дори и неподготвен. Гледката на върха и в самата проходна пещера е хубава. Реално това е и "интересното". След като се качите има обход за слизането, който е доста полегат, но като разстояние е почти двойно . Входа е 4лв

Приятно място за разходка,но може да се направи малко повече по пътя нагоре ,може да се по възстановят стъпала. Но като оставим тези подробности гледката е страхотна.

Малко преди село Кошница.Има табели,които указват,мястото. Пътеката е добра,с беседки и места за почивка.Заслужава си изкачването.Заради пленителните гледки и българското знаме,което се вее гордо.

Страхотно място за разходка. Пътеката не е тежка и със сигурност има какво да се види. Има прекрасна гледка от крепостта.

Много приятна разходка. Пътеката е почти цялата в гора, направени са стъпала за улеснение и има доста места за почивка (скамейки, маси и беседки). Гледката е прекрасна.

150м денивелация; 40-50мин бавно катерене с почивки - почти изцяло се ходи по стъпала (леко високи на места). Има беседка посредата. Изгнили парапети по път на места - трябва още поддръжка. Вход 3лв на барачката на асфалта. Малко преди проходната пещера има път отбивка надясно за още една наблюдателна площадка на 3мин. и отделна от главната. Красиви гледки и чист въздух!
