This is a really amazing place for locals and foreigners to go to. I was able to better understand rural Belarus better. I enjoyed that the museum was pretty much self guided. I was able to see a lot of variety in architecture, crafts, tools, etc. I can't recommend this place enough to people.

It is located out of Minsk, but you can go by Uber from Malinovka metro station (the last one on the blue line) and it's going to cost you around 6 roubles. The only issue if you go by Uber, is that on the way back you cannot order an Uber, because you can only order Uber in Minsk. Anyway, there is a bus station nearby that you can use to get back to the city.
The museum is very interesting, it's like an old town and you can enter every house and explore how people many years ago live.
I recommend it as a family trip on a beautiful weekend day.

The entrance is quite expensive, for a museum. But there are a lot of activities inside. All the houses and household items that you will see are authentic, all saved from a time long ago. The museum workers/curators offer a comprehensive experience by dressing up in costumes from centuries ago, telling stories and also sometimes carrying out local traditions (particularly on old pagan holidays)
These people also tend to the gardens and fields there. You will find a couple of churches with unique depictions and artifacts.
Overall, a day well spent.

One of the greatest places in Belarus if you want to dive deeper into a local culture. There are a lot of festivals and exhibition s in summer. Recommended to visit.

Museum of national architecture and life.

Very original place. To those who interested in life and traditions of the Belarusian people, it will be very informative. Film crews are often visitors here. There is a bonus in the form of private airfield, an opportunity it will be entertaining to fans of light aircraft to spend time.

The place is worth to visit:you can see the different wooden villages of end of the XIX-first part of XXth century of 3 parts of Belaruss. To listen to the stories from locals and to walk around. 2 hours it is minimum to dedicate to this place. If you will become hungry, you can eat lical belarussian cuisine in the small restaurant where the food is 0km and tasty!🤗😋

This is such a neat place!! There are houses representing different parts of Belarus and set up to show how people lived in the past. I’ve read books set in this time period and it was very neat to get a visual to go along with the story.

Surrounded by beautiful landscape this place helps to understand the life of simple belarusians, to feel the mentality and character of the nation. Quiet place, the entrance fee is about 5 dollars. Definitely worth visiting.

The open air museum contains many buildings from all over Belarus and from different periods of time but mostly from the late 18th to the early 20th century. Some buildings are original, others have been built from scratch and others are hybrids built from new and old materials.

The museum contains a variety of buildings including a school, church, 200 year old working tavern, blacksmith, barns and windmill and a number of different sections.

The tour was fascinating to give an insight into Belarusian architecture and you could really see how people used to live. Any tour of Belarus should have this included.

A late lunch was consumed at the tavern (called Belaruskaya Karchma if you want to look it up) which had excellent food at very reasonable prices in an authentic environment.

We visited the museum with our guide but the tour that was arranged was by an English speaking guide from the museum however our guide was still very helpful throughout. If you don't speak Russian I would strongly recommend a guide to get the most out of your time in Belarus, we used and recommend Natallia from Minsk Private Tours.

A great place with a range of exhibits on different natural settings. There's also a nice restaurant specialising in Belarusian cuisine.

Excellent and quite representative place to get acquainted with the way of life of the local people back a hundred years ago. I will definitely recommend visiting this place to foreign visitors - from what I know, they have English speaking guides here.

It's always exciting to visit this museum. I was there with friend or family 8-10 times already. I think this museum is one of the best belarusian museums.
