Douala International Airport

Very quiet, well organised and beautiful, and not too crowded

I have traveled through here in the past several times, and here is the trick if you want a very smooth transition:

Primarily when you have a layover here, after you collect your checked luggage and walk back into the airport doors (before the ticket counters). No matter how long your stay is, purchase VIP upstairs. It is not that expensive. The stairs you’d see when you entered back into the airport, on the left hand side.

Zamako VIP, usually a hostess name Gaëlle is there. Avoid all the unofficial solicitors.

You will be able to get air conditioning, cheap great cooked food, wifi and peace. As well as basically a fast track and personal escort all the way from the ticketing counter to customs.

If you ever run into Gaëlle, let her know Manner recommended (haha).

This airport does shuffle people around unnecessarily - Zamako VIP is that peace.

This airport is welcoming and procedure free for locals or visitors.

There are services that are actually unnecessary like folks that post themselves midway before you reach the check in counters who "offer" to weigh your luggage to ascertain they fall within the baggage allowance and who ask for money. The guy told me 1000 FCA. I gave him a 2000 CFA note but he did not give me change back nor did he give a receipt. When you check in the agents will still weigh the luggage. So if you can please skip them…

Totally fine if you go in with patience, respect, small bills for people who help you and no expectations for AC, wifi or food + beverage.

Nice facility with best staff and good helpful people . They manage the things well . Easy to reach and ample parking available. Lounge are available and good food . Waiting area with sitting and very silent one most of the time inside terminal building. One will find pleasant here .

Airport means travelling. I always feel excited when travelling. My experience has always been smooth via this airport. The counters always keep to time and the services are great too.

It a very nice place, they highest Muslim populated quarter, there is peace and love among us, and we pray Allah should keep us together till death, we have more than 18th musques in the quarter,

Airport scenario with planes to different destinations in the world. Security system upgrades, very few fights per day. If you are traveling try to do your check in three hours prior departure because things are unpredictable at the airport.

I'll be straight.. It's worth a touristic place with people everywhere , the infrastructures too are quite amazing, i love the airport you know procedures are fast.. Its filled with excellent attendance, gush its wonderful.
