Zarcero, Evangelista Blanco Brenes Park

What a delightful, whimsical park. It was totally unexpected. It was well manicured and a true gem. Free wifi, too!

Lovely little church with a topiary garden out front. Good halfway point for the popular bike ride to Zarcero. Lots of bikers congregating there on weekends.

This garden should be better known as a national Costa Rican treasure. I understand that the same individual has been responsible for creating the sculptures in plants for more than 50 years. Amazing work!

Totally fabulous place to visit.
We hired a car for a week, we were based in Atenas, and just set out each day to see where the spirit moved us. Zarcero was an amazing find, we spent quite a while there, stopped for coffee in a street cafe, and just generally soaked up this amazing place

So worth the visit. Zarcero is a pretty mountain town and this park is a wonder to wander. When we went, there were only two other people there. In front of a pretty church, the topiary is delightful. Stop just across the street for a very refreshing, mixed fruit juice.

I loved this park it was so beautiful you could spend time here for hours relaxing and looking at the magnificent plants. There are a lot of good places to sit and enjoy life.

Still one of the most beautiful parks in Costa Rica

Zarcero produces the best cheese and sour cream of Costa Rica, on top of that, the microclimate is super pleasant. This last fact makes this town a perfect spot to plant beautiful and colorful species.

It's park is an example of the gorgeous collection of flowers you can enjoy while visiting it.

It's always a pleasure visiting this place. Real nature and nice weather. People is still friendly and authentic. Additionally, you can buy palmito cheese and bizcochos. Everything here is so delicious!

It is always a great place to visit and take a stroll through the park.

Beautiful and Meticulously kept with pride!
We loved the detail and care that is given to this park. The beautiful ornate San Rafael Church overlooking the park is exquisite. This was a perfect place to stop and reflect on the beautiful people of Costa Rica and their kindness and beautiful country.

If you drive from San José it might take you about an hour to get here. It is really amazing how Evangelista (the gardener) keeps everything so amazingly beautiful. There is also a church which is worth visiting. I hope that the community keeps taking care of the park like they have until now.

It is a nice drive out of the city, to a small town that had an ice cream store (pops across a supermarket the park was very relaxing.

Park is made up of landscaped hedges. Very well maintained. Large Catholic Church is open to the public. Well worth a visit! Plenty of restaurants d nearby.

A fun and interesting place to visit if you're in the area. It's also free!

To begin with, the drive through the rolling hills with jaw-dropping vistas was awesome. Once we drove into the chaRming town, we could see the red capped towers from the distance and once we got there, another wow. The frescoes inside, the architecture of the church, the smells of the junipers and the pruning work of the adjacent gardens of señor scissorhands was a treat. I got to meet him, soooo cool. Beautiful park outside the church, which has some really nice tile work.

I loved this place! Could spend hours here just taking in the beauty. It’s a very clean park with lots to admire from the beautiful church to the artistically designed bushes!
