Guanacaste Viajes | Tours and Airport Transfers

We used Guanacaste Viajes and Tours for our airport transfers. Our driver to the resort was Erick and to the airport was German. Both did a great job. Very safe, and a great job of navigating all of the obstacles on the road of the Riu resorts. When both drivers found out I could speak some Spanish, then they did most of their communicating in Spanish. That was fine with me and I was able to practice a lot. But both spoke English very well too. Would highly recommend them.

Our guide was amazing. We did the Waterfall and Sloth tour since we couldnt do many adventures. Not only was it very private, but everything was very clean and the tours were great. What was even more amazing is we were ahead of schedule with the Waterfall and we made an additional stop at the coffee tour to take a quick look. The booking was easy and the owner made sure it was tailored for my wife which is pregnant. The lunch was also spectacular and had the opportunity to try the local casado con Pollo and the delicious fresh juices.

Highly recommend Guanacaste viajes and tours. We booked the “sloth sanctuary” tour and it exceeded expectations! Our guide Santos was great, and went out of his way to show us wildlife as we drove to the various locations. The waterfall was beautiful, lunch was tasty and the wildlife tour was perfect for the whole family - we travelled with our 9 year old and we were all amazed at the wildlife we saw. Thank you Santos for a fabulous day!

We booked a full day in the Monteverde cloud forests (including transportation to/from Riu palace in Guanacaste). From start to finish, we had a phenomenal experience. Our English-speaking tour guide was Stevenson. Our driver was Erik. Both of them were kind, attentive, professional, and fun. Stevenson has an incredible wealth of knowledge and a true passion for Costa Rican flora and fauna. He helped us see things that others completely missed. H was somehow able to see the tiniest little creatures and pointed them out to us, even little eggs left by frogs. He taught us a great deal. He also helped us capture beautiful pictures and videos using his binoculars. The included breakfast and lunch were outstanding. We speak nearly zero Spanish and Stevenson was very kind to walk us through ordering food, making sure we understood the etiquette and options at each restaurant. Erik navigated the dangerous roads smoothly and we felt completely safe (despite pretty much everyone in Costa Rican driving like they’re invincible). At the end of the day we were returned safely to our resort and realized my husband dropped his wallet in the van. I didn’t have direct number for Erik, so I contacted Viator (the website we had used to book) and they reached out to him. Erik delivered the wallet to us that very same night (even though he’d already worked 12+ hours!). That’s the type of courtesy and compassion that is above and beyond. I half expected to get his wallet in the mail a few weeks later. Erik’s kindness saved our trip and spared us a great deal of stress!

Jose Fernandez was our tour guide. He was amazing. He was so accommodating. We were there for my sister’s 50th Birthday. José went above & beyond.

We have used Guanacaste Viajes for our pickup from the airport and back, and each time the service was excellent. Both drivers arrived early. We communicated with the company from the U.S. through WhatsApp and they responded immediately. We received a detailed description of the car that would be picking us up, the divers full name and phone number along with the color of the shirt. Can’t recommend this company enough.

The entire experience was smooth and great! Email responses were extremely timely and prompt. Our flight was delayed and when I emailed the company, I was quickly assured that they were tracking my flight details and would arrive accordingly. Our driver was also super helpful and professional. The cherry on top was having our van upgraded without our knowledge, a nice surprise. My wife and i used Guanacaste Viajes for our transfer from Westin Reserva Conchal to Liberia Airport. The company advised us the night before regarding our pick up time, the driver's name and type, color and license number of the vehicle. The driver was Jose. Jose is an excellent driver and very personable and professional. The drive is about 1 hour. The company is professionally run and kept us informed the whole time regarding pick-up location, time, driver name and make, model and license plate of the vehicle. I highly recommend this company and Jose is a great driver.

I’ve traveled to Costa Rica on several occasions and used a few different transportation companies.GuanacasteViejas Transports Turisticos de Guanacaste stands out ! From first contact with Manuel Duarte’s my expectations were exceeded we were a group of people arriving at the airport in Liberia but were heading to different areas of Guanacaste . To top it off after we made the initial reservations some in the group made changes to their travel plans . It had to be challenging for Manuel to make all the changes but he did it without a problem . Our transports from the airport to our destinations along with the returns were perfect ! Clean vehicles, friendly drivers who are knowledgeable about the area, and drove on windy roads without speeding or scaring the passengers were a blessing . Needless to say I will use this company when I return to Costa Rica and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for reliable transportation !!

I booked Guanacaste for roundtrip airport transportation from Liberia to Flamingo Beach as well as two all-day tours with them, including the Mega Combo at Buena Vista tour and the Rainforest Experience. The cost for all services was very reasonable compared to other companies and the vehicles were sanitized and clean. All drivers were fluent in English, professional and friendly. They explained to me how the vehicles are sanitized, provided bottled water and hand sanitizer, and always wore a face mask. I felt 100% safe and thouroughly enjoyed my experiences with this company. Shout out to Ariel, who was my driver and tour guide for the Mega Comgo at Buena Vista tour; he was a wealth of information, friendly and made the day very fun and educational.

I used this company to provide a ride from the airport to my hotel. Upon landing at the airport, I received a message from the driver, Jose. He stated he'll be outside waiting to look for my name. What made this even more easier is that the day before, the company sent me a message with the driver name, what he'll be wearing, license plate of the vehicle and a way to contact the driver. Jose, was knowledgeable of the area, English was great, and made suggestions on things he thought we'd like based on our conversations. Overall I love the experience and I'd recommend them to anyone.

This company is amazing, I went to Costa Rica alone so was a little nervous about getting around. Guanacaste viajes tours provided me safe, comfortable transportation and very affordable compared to other tours. They also communicated with me on WhatsApp helping me chose the places to go! They picked me up from airport, took me on tours and then back to airport. Everyone is so nice and helpful, you can tell they like their job. It’s a great company you won’t be disappointed using them.

The trip felt safe and we enjoyed our driver Jose. José was very nice and explained us about Costa Rica along our trip which as tourist, we enjoyed. I got motion sickness on the way and José was very sweet about stopping for me. Definitely recommend.

I could not say better things about my experience with them. We used them to bring us to and from the airport (LIR), and from one hotel to the next (fortuna-playa grande). They emailed us every step of the way leaving us with not any questions. They were super communicative when our flight was delayed 3 hours, and when we had to change our reservation last minute. They also stop for bathrooms and lunch!! Book with them!

Great transportation service. Communication about the accommodation was clear and direct. We used the service a few times while in the area and the drivers were always very safe and communicated very clearly. Would recommend their services.
