Villas La Paz

Just got back from our stay in Costa Rica at Villa la Paz(the pink Villa). Got in late the first night so we were greeted by Andres the next morning. Immediately made us feel at home. Answered any questions we had also suggested a few things to do and places to check out. We did so and didn’t disappoint. Morning coffees on the thatched roof open aired dinning room with the birds and howler monkeys was amazing. Morning greetings from all staff members made the days start off great. Nice air conditioned rooms made for enjoyable sleeps after long days in the sun. 10 minute walk to the beach was also nice. Highly recommend booking a local dinner made by his second mom, it was amazing.
Will definitely return to stay at Villa la Paz, and 100% recommend this as your place to stay while visiting Costa Rica.

PURA VIDA!

Absolute hidden gem! Located close to Playa Conchal and Playa Minas. Villas La Paz is also smack in the middle between Tamarindo and Las Catalinas - two areas definitely worth checking out.

A special shout out to Andres, Lizeth, and Rosmeri - they were so wonderful and helpful. Be sure to tip them - pass on the savings to the staff. :) It always amazes me people do not tip people in the tourism industry.

The property is located inside the gated area of nearby Condor Lodge (few minutes walk and has a bar and restaurant). Each room is well equipped with plenty of amenities and the site has free parking and a beautiful pool.

Bonus: If you are lucky you may see/hear the howler monkeys!

Pro-tip: Your room should come with a full kitchen so pick up some groceries prior to coming here as it is somewhat remote (a plus in my book) - the nearest Super is in Matapalo.

We last minute needed a place to stay for the night and found availability here at Villas La Paz. So glad we did! Andrés is absolutely amazing. Do not let the dirt road drive in deter you. Be prepared for a bumpy ride into the Villas and nearby beaches as these are the roads used by the ATV excursions, but so worth it. He provided recommendations for nearby beaches, gave directions to getting to his favorite spots, and was beyond accommodating to our last minute requests. The next time we're in Costa Rica we will be staying here for a lot longer than a day. There are AT LEAST 4 beaches within 10 minute drive. Playa Conchal is best for the kids and is calmer while others have larger waves just have to be more careful but all are beautiful. The Villas come with a huge patio overlooking the trees with hammocks and rocking chairs. The kitchen is outside on the patio with plenty of storage space. Also the shower was perfect for washing off after a day at the beach. Provided plenty of space to rinse both of our kids at once and had a hose attachment that was perfect getting the sand off. Thank you Andrés for such a wonderful stay!

Andres was awesome to book with. He was very quick to respond any time I had questions. 6 of us stayed there and it blew us away. It's a beautiful place and we really enjoyed ourselves. The Villa is about 10-15 min from the nearest grocery store. The road from town is long and bumpy, but you can make it fine in a car without 4WD. In the dry season anyways. We opted to have our meals cooked for us. Breakfast and Dinner and we had some of the most amazing meals. She was an awesome cook. The pool was refreshing and it was relaxing watching the wild life around. We didn't see the howler Monkeys while staying there, but we definitely heard them. I heard them crawling on the roof one night though. lol The beaches are a close 5-10 min drive and the town of Brasilito is a super cute beach town not too far. We did a crocodile tour through Tamarindo and that was a busy little tourist town that was worth checking out. Andres spent time hanging out with us a couple different nights. He's very personable and we all enjoyed spending time with him and swapping stories. Everything is open, but the rooms which have air-conditioning. There will be bugs as you are in CR. So you will see them around. It's part of the experience. We were hanging out in the dining room one evening when a raccoon literally walked into the open kitchen to try and take the fire extinguisher off the wall and when he couldn't get that he tried to grab our phone charger plugged into the wall. We shoed him away before he succeeded. HaHa It was a great time!

Andres and Pablo are very welcoming, helpful and quick to get in touch with, online or offline. Offered one more free night at the villas as it rained every day of our stay. Quality AC, renovated rooms, beautiful layout of the villa. Hot water could be hotter though :)

This place is paradise. Our stay here was incredible, Andrés is the sweetest and most accommodating host ever. This place is truly Off the beaten path, very difficult to get to by car (I would HIGHLY recommend renting a 4x4 if you plan to visit/drive), but a quick 10 minute walk to the gorgeous Playa Conchal beach; 30 minutes to Playa Minas, and more. The rooms/villas are beautiful and make you feel like you’re staying in the middle of nature. I recommend bringing food/snacks from the nearest town when driving in. We ate several meals next door at the Condor Lodge restaurant (also amazing!) which made the remoteness of this place super manageable. I can’t wait to return!

This is a Airbnb place… beautiful scenery, the pool is a shearing with three more Airbnb in the same area… beautiful location, near to a beach…

Great succluded hide away! Fabulous views from the restaurant and pool. Friendly and courteous staff. New renovated facilities are quite luxurious. Several amazing beaches just a few minutes drive away. Stop in Matapalo if you have need for groceries or liquor...about 5 km before the resort.

Its the best place u can go ❤, villas with private areas, every villa has a own story and mood, birds, raccoon, opossum, reptiles, monkeys 🙈 all friendly 😍😍🦝🥭 what nature lover need 🐶🐶. Owner Andreas supportive as a family 🐱

Great place to have rest. Surrounded by nature close to shopping centers and restaurants (Tamarindo and Conchal beaches). Great surf spots and hiking trails. Amazing guests, feel like home when vacationing. Don't miss this opportunity.

If you want to get away from the tourist traps and enjoy the jungle as well as beautiful beaches of Costa Rica, Villas La Paz is the place. You can relax at the pool or walk to the beach. You can fix your own food or take a short drive to a local restaurant.
If you feel like you need to play tourist there are several tourist beaches within a short drive. The community of Matapalo is friendly and your host at La Paz is very welcoming. You are making a wonderful choice if you want to experience the best of all worlds in Costa Rica. Pura Vida.
