Soda Chalo

Found this place by chance and was such a pleasant experience! The food was delicious and service was amazing. They have these coconut cookies that are really good too! The young man there was so helpful and nice. I wish him and his family business all the success. Please go check them out if you're near!

Our party of six just stopped here today on our way to La Fortuna. We were immediately greeted and made to feel very welcome. Marco described each dish with such enthusiasm so it was obvious that he takes pride in his work! I had the Casado dish and it was absolutely amazing! Everyone loved their food! Marco's grandfather opened this soda 24 years ago and three generations later, it's obvious why it's still going strong! Thank you for the delicious lunch, for making us feel so welcome and for the sample of the papaya that you had just picked fresh from your tree!! Do not pass this place up!

Such a great discovery on our way back to the airport from the Caribbeans! This was probably the best Casado we had in Costa Rica! Super warm family atmosphere and the food is so delicious! The owner’s son runs this place with so much positive energy and made us feel very welcomed! If you want real local food with local atmosphere- this is your place!

Delicious food and really friendly service. I speak a little Spanish and they took the time to speak a little slower so I could practice ordering and small talk in Spanish. You can also just order in English ;-) Nice soda for a good plate of food to get you filled for the rest of your journey.

Great place! The owners were super friendly and helped us learn a few new Spanish words! They were very accommodating with dietary restriction, able to make me and a friend vegetarian food that was super delicious. Get their chocolate milk, passion fruit juice, and fish plates if they have them!

Driving by and saw the parking was full, Tells me there is good food. We stopped and had some of the best authentic food we could ask for. Service was outstanding and the price was excellent. Stop by if you pass by.

Chalo and fam were wonderfully welcoming to this pack of gringos; the food was amazing and very reasonably priced. What a gem to stop off at on your way to or from the Caribbean coast.
