Cataratas Bijagua Lodge

What a delightful stay! We drove here from Guanacaste after staying in a 5 star resort. Honestly loved this place more. Clean, comfy, quiet and very peaceful. The host and hostess are kind and courteous. Loved the grounds. Very well kept and diverse in vegetation. The waterfall was AMAZING! Wear hiking boots, take water and swim suit. It was the most non commercial thing we did in CR and totally enjoyed it. BTW the breakfast was delicious!

I had an awesome stay at the Cataratas Bijagua Lodge. The place is in a quiet location, surrounded by nature. The bungalows are spread out in a tropical garden and there’s a rainforest nearby. Sometimes, you can even see a sloth or toucans passing by.

The owner of the lodge is a really nice person. They made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful too.

The breakfast was amazing. They serve typical Costa Rican specialties in the restaurant. The food was delicious and it was a great way to start the day.

Overall, I highly recommend Cataratas Bijagua Lodge. It’s a great place to stay if you’re visiting Bijagua de Upala.

We had a great stay at Cataratas Bijagua! The rooms were a little basic but the setting is stunning and it feels like the perfect place to get away from it all and relax in a hammock watching butterflies and hummingbirds swing by. Great breakfasts with delicious juice and coffee and onsite hiking trails to beautiful waterfalls were an added bonus. Staff were really friendly and welcoming but if you don’t speak Spanish you might struggle to communicate a little. Pura Vida!

Wonderful cabin in the forest. Great sized room, nice bathroom, breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, juice, delicious coffee and the usual Gallo Pinto.

Staff were really helpful and the 5 kilometre walk you can do from the property to a waterfall is one of the most beautiful walks I've ever done.

The trees had Toucans, Hummingbirds and Woodpeckers in them.

If you're booking this lodge, you've picked the right part of Costa Rica and the right place to relax. Quaint rooms are clean, cool, and private. Free breakfast was our favorite one so far and tasted like everything was picked, milked, and prepared that morning. Take time to walk around and try some of the fruit on the property.

Amazing! My girlfriend and I loved the cabins, right next to Rio Celeste national park (10min drive) which was our favorite place in Costa Rica. The treck that starts at the hotel (Cataratas waterfall) is worth it but really hard, no kidding! Make sure you reserve your dinners in advance, though restaurant options in town are very good and authentic too.

Beautiful cabins in peaceful surroundings. Very nice staff and simpel but good food!

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cet hôtel avec une superbe végétation.
Le sentier au départ de l hôtel pour faire les cascades est magnifique et recommandé. Gratuit et accessible il faut compté 2h aller/retour . Ca vaut le détour

Magnifique endroit ! La végétation extraordinaire ! Les petits chalets magnifiques rien à dire ! On as même vue des toucans au sein de notre petit chalets ! Le coin restaurant est très très bon et super accueil

Très agréable endroit ou loger à Bijagua.
Le jardin attire de nombreux oiseaux toucans, colibris…)
Il y a des promenades de 30 minutes, 1 heure ou 2 heures à partir du lodge.
Le personnel est très gentil, à l’écoute et vous prépare des bons plats maison.
Le lodge est propre, fonctionnel.
L’endroit idéal pour aller au parc national de Tenorio et le Rio Celeste à 20 minutes environ.

Wir haben es hier geliebt. Und das trotz Dauerregen.
Insgesamt haben wir hier drei Nächte verbracht und sind begeistert von der Herzlichkeit mit wir hier bemuttert wurden.
Hier war auch der Standort, an dem wir das erste Mal die Costa Rica Frösche (Rotaugenlaubfrosch) gesehen haben.
Phantastisches Essen, exklusiv für uns gekocht. Leckeres Frühstück.
Die Zimmer/Häuschen einfach, aber völlig ausreichend.
Ein toller Garten. Direkte Wandermlglichkeit zum Wasserfall.
Dicker Daumen hoch!

Petite cabane au calme avec des hôtes adorables. Le petit déjeuner est copieux.

Uns hat der Aufenthalt hier sehr gut gefallen. Das Zimmer war sauber und das Abendessen sehr lecker. Die Anlage ist gepflegt und man konnte viele Vögel beobachten :) Der Besitzer spricht nur spanisch. Die Wanderung zum Wasserfall ist absolut empfehlenswert!

Alors très belle surprise, une cabane au fond d'un jardin magnifique, c'était très simple et il y avait l'indispensable.
Autre surprise, la promenade, en fait une très belle rando de 3 heures et une superbe cascade au bout.
A faire avec des chaussures fermées.
Nous avons vu des toucans, colibris, papillons et un serpent. Top
