Very cool local spot. It's a lunchroom/food line style set up. The food was delicious and the service was great. Honestly don't know the names of any of the dishes, but they looked good so I decided to try them. The frutas was so good! 🤤

Don't pass this authentic Costa Rican food up!! We had the best dinner here. It was my husband's birthday, he wanted authentic....well he got it! He wanted a pork chop, they cooked it to order. I had very juicy chicken in a delicious sauce. The Plantains were so good. Scrumptious meal, well priced. Juices, coffee, pastries , ice cream as well 👍We'll be back before we head home. Gracias 😋

While it doesn’t look like much from the street, this is an excellent buffet style clean soda. The food is very tasty with lots of different options, the service was fast and friendly. We will definitely come back.

User delicious and super busy here. Line up out the doors sometimes, but it goes quick. Soo many variety and selection. Everything I tried was amazing. From the braised beef short ribs Ro to the chicken in tomato sauce. Good rice n beans as well. Came back for their soups as well. It was sooo good. Both the bed and the chicken was super delicious a d tasty. Rare case where I ate twice at a restaurant when I am on vacation.

One of the top 2 sodas if not the best in all of Jaco. Off the beaten path a little but make the 10 minute walk and it will be worth it. Best to go for lunch as the menu is always good and super delicious. It does get packed around noon but the line goes quickly......eat a ton and get more then 1 entree if hungry!!!!

Was in Jaco for 5 days in Nov 2023 and when I say I ate here everyday, I’m not lying. The food was AMAZING!

No wait for early breakfast! Quick and tasty food. Buffet style so it is easy to order if you don't speak Spanish. Server spoke English also. Less than $6 for breakfast and coffee. Pay in colones. Many locals, no tourists while I was there.

We ran across this soda. It was jam packed for lunch and we were able to get a table quickly. My first olla de carne and it was delicious. It was hot outside and I didn’t mind eating soup at all. The portion was huge. The broth was rich and the vegetables were tender. I almost didn’t need the meat at all it was that satisfying. We also tried the ribs which were delicious. The stew, casado and extra side of vegetables with two bottle waters was 11,000 colones. So affordable!

We were on our way back from Uvita to San Jose and decided to stop for lunch in Jaco. We weren't really looking for anything in particular but wanted to have a simple local experience and as we were driving through Jaco we saw this place and decided to pull into the parking lot and give it a try. There was a lineup at the counter and the dining area was full so that was a good sign right off the bat. Honestly (other than the washrooms needing some cleaning), the experience was exactly what we were looking for. The food was tasty. Service was quick. The price was totally reasonable. The dining area was clean and always being serviced as people came and went. Loved it.

This spot was recommended to me by some locals as I wanted to eat typical Costa Rican food. They have a variety to choose from and I enjoyed the meals I had there. Also to their advantage is that the prices are a bit cheaper than what you’d find on the main strip. I’m not sure if any of the workers are bilingual but if you have a hard time speaking in Spanish you can just point at what you want. They also accept credit cards in addition to US or Colones.

Wow this is the best food I have had in Costa Rica!! Very affordable (this meal was like 4.30 usd) all vegan and gluten free! Will return next time I’m in Jaco

Soda Garabito was pheomenal. We wanted something tipical in the area and i found this place with pretty good reviews and gave it a try.

Atmosphere Wise its another soda, it is. a buffet like soda were you line up and tell then what you want on your plate, you pay and eat. Service is quick and friendly but what really takes the prize is the flavor

I am delighted to know that foreigners are getting a taste of authentic Costa Rica cuisine, the flavors were good, the price is good and let me say this again the flavors of home cooking like when its made by your mom or grandma it's there.

From now on , when in the area, Soda Garabito will be my place to go.

This cafeteria style restaurant is great a place to eat with local fair. Kind and friendly staff. The food is always fresh.. and seems to be made with pride. Very inexpensive meals . Average breakfast 3 to 4 dollars a person and 4 to 5 for lunch or dinner. We came back multiple times.. brought our drinks and enjoyed the easy atmosphere.

Great food! Enjoying it again in one week! Price is very affordable as well!

Soda Garabito! The best soda in town for fried fish and chicken. Anytime I was out and about when living in Jaco, this was the lunch place for me. The owner and everyone who worked there were very welcoming to the Gringo they saw at least once per week. And they have pickled veges on the table everyday, one of my favorite toppings for any rice dish. I can't tell you how friendly and welcoming these people are to gringos. I would hope that I played my own part in that I was nice and always tried to communicate in Spanish, be cordial and thankful. ANOTHER THING; THEY WERE ALWAYS CAREFUL TO LET ME KNOW WHAT MY CHANGE WAS AND NEVER ONCE DID I FEEL LIKE I WAS GETTING THE GRINGO TAX WHEN USING US DOLLARS. They were careful to make sure I knew that and I always appreciated it. Soda Garabito will always be synonymous with Playa Jaco for me.

Great traditional food variety. Freshly made. Prices incredibly affordable. Highly recommend. Casados are the best route.
