Hotel de Campo Caño Negro

This place is a treasure.
If you are going there for the wildlife I don't know how you an find a better spot.
Andrea has built a fantastic lodge.
Boating tours were excellent and if you are a photographer they put you in the right position to get a great shot. They folks are pros.
Food was the best we had in Costa Rica and it wasn't really close.
Wildlife was just outstanding.
Great value and I will go back to spend more time there. Two days was not enough.

Comfortable, clean, and charismatic... Every single evening of our stay, we saw a troop of Spider Monkeys swing past our room. We enjoyed our stay, the food was delicious, and the host and staff were fab. We went on a 4-hour boat tour along the Rio Frio, and there were so many different birds, many caiman and turtles - highly recommended.

We stayed at Hotel del Campo and purchased the Bat tour package. Not sure why it’s called “Bat” but it included one night at the hotel, breakfast, and 2 private boat tours (7 hours on the river and lagoon). It was a great value! We saw so many birds on the tours with our guide Jeffrey. The hotel grounds were immaculately maintained, room was clean with good airconditioning. Wish we had time to try out the beautiful pool. We ate lunch and dinner at the restaurant. The food (pork chop, gar, and pasta) was quite good and also a reasonable price for the quality and quantity. Owner Andrea was super helpful on making sure we had a great stay. We highly recommend Hotel del Campo!

My idea of paradise. Comfortable and clean room. Very efficient staff. In fact they were excellent. Andréa went out of his way to look after his guests. Everything i needed was right on the doorstep. Would I go back ? Yes, of course I would.

The hotel is off the beaten path and requires an hour's drive on dirt roads but once you arrive, you are in a birdwatcher's paradise. The rooms are comfortable with AC and ceiling fans. There is a pool to cool off in the hot afternoons surrounded by botanical gardens. The food and service are top notch and trips down the Rio Frio can all be arranged. Recommend for nature lovers!

This is a fabulous place. The room was delightful. Clean. Very comfortable bed. Indoor and outdoor shower. Walk out the door and you can see and hear a wide variety of birds. We are both avid birders and this was perfect for us. Wander the grounds and there was a wonderful assortment of trees and plants (a lot with labels identifying them). The food was amazing. Our first night: homemade pasta with bolognese sauce was divine. You can walk to the rio frio from the hotel and bird along the way. We signed up for the guided river expedition. Both outings we had highly skilled guides. One was fluent in English the other
Was not but both gave us wonderful, educational outings. We will return!

We have had a very pleasant stay in this beautifull hotel. Nice rooms with ac. Monkeys where present from the first moment we arrived. Also a lot of birds and other different wildlife.
Also we did a private boat tour with the friendly guide Andrea who by the way speaks English very wel.
Also the restaurant and the food they serve is very good.

We liked it a lot and would advise anyone to book a room and a tour in hotel campo.

The hosts were amazing. The grounds are beautiful and we saw so much incredible wildlife. The hotel is very clean and had real AC! Not just fans. They garden is beautiful to walk through and they have signs telling you what all the unique trees and bushes are. Lots of exotic fruits that they also served with their complimentary breakfast. The pool was such a great feature in the hot and humid weather. Cleaned every night. The food was great as well. My only complaint is that the Wi-Fi didn't work very well, mostly never. But with the things to see and do, it wasn't that big of a deal. I highly recommend this place as it was our absolute favorite place in Costa Rica.

A very good place to stay with beautifull gardens, many birds, monkeys and very good boattours! The food is excellent. A pleasant stay with a very friendly owner! Top location for everybody but especially for birdwatchers and nature lovers.

The hotel is an amazing place. Clean, comfortable, good food , off the beaten track, a birdwatchers paradise with very good guides and very suitable boats (seats that can rotate so you can turn to any direction where wildlife shows up).

Heel mooi hotel met vriendelijk personeel en lekker eten. De boot tour was erg geslaagd met veel soorten vogels. Echt een aanrader!

Conocí el Hotel de Campo, a principios de diciembre de 2012. Fue una experiencia muy gratificante ser, amable y personalmente, atendido no solamente por sus Funcionarios, sino por su Gerente el Sr. Mauro Corte, de origen suizo, nacionalizado Costarricense, quien posee grandes conocimientos acerca de la biodiversidad de la zona, y es un excelente conversador, que se expresa en varios idiomas (italiano, francés, inglés, español).

El servicio que brindan es muy completo, y la atención de su Personal es excelente y ágil. Desde sus cómodas habitaciones con aire acondicionado, hasta la Piscina, el Jacuzzi y la vista panorámica sinigual,que invitan a la relajación, el descanso, la meditación y la armonía total.

El Hotel de Campo se encuentra en las cercanías del Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Caño Negro, por lo cual su entorno paisajístico es impresionante. Se ubica a poca distancia de la poblacion de Caño Negro, donde su gente es muy amigable y acogedora.

A quien le guste la aventura, encontrará en el Hotel de Campo el sitio adecuado para que le brinden información pertinente. Además, ofrecen al Visitante alquiler de Kayacs y facilidades de Guía Turístico que les conducirán apropiadamente por los sitios de interés del refugio silvestre.

Les recomiendo visitarlo en cualquier época del año. Será una experiencia inolvidable.

Exc atención. Preciosas habitaciones, cómodas, con aire acondicionado y ventilador. Deliciosa comida. Exc atención en el tour de Caño Negro. Tienen piscina. Parqueo. Zonas verdes.
