Birding Caño Negro Tours Experience

Andrea is the owner-operator of the Hotel del Campo as well as owner of this birding company. He uses a local boat-driver/guide Alfonso who is a great spotter and knows all the water channels. Alfonso also assures that every person on the boat gets a good view. Andrea himself also drives, guides, and knows his stuff. We were without transportation, so he drove us, in his van, the short distance to the public boat launch. Leisurely making our way along the river, watching and learning wildlife, was a delightful way to pass the time.

This place is incredible not to mention the great weather for birding photography. Hotel de Campo and staff makes you feel at home. The accommodations are clean and relaxing, not to mention great food by Patricia. Andrea, the tour guide is very knowledgeable and is a people person. Will definitely come back. P.S. Bring an SUV and not a car.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Andrea,the owner and a bird guide, was hospitable, flexible, and accommodating. Private birding and photography tours are a highlight of our trip. Alfonso, a local guide, has keen eyes and ears for spotting and Identifying birds.
Observing hundreds of roosting birds accompanied by the night chorus of frogs and the emergence of bats was mesmerizing.
By the way, the food was good and the room was very comfortable.
