La Sana Surf Hotel

I recently had the pleasure of staying at La Sana Surf Hotel in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, and I can't say enough good things about this charming place!

First and foremost, the service at La Sana was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They were always friendly, attentive, and ready to assist with any request.

The view from the hotel was simply breathtaking. We woke up to the sight of the stunning Costa Rican coastline every morning, and it was a sight to behold. The sunsets were equally mesmerizing, and we couldn't get enough of them.

But what truly sets La Sana apart is its incredible people. From the warm and welcoming staff to the fellow guests we met during our stay, the sense of community and camaraderie was remarkable. It felt like a home away from home.

If you're looking for a place with great service, a beautiful view, and amazing people, La Sana Surf Hotel is the perfect choice. I can't wait to return to this little slice of paradise in Santa Teresa. Highly recommended!

I loved this place! An epic peaceful jungle getaway! Delfina was great at communicating and even called me the day of check-in to make sure I had a smooth time arriving. She also went above and. Wound to make sure I had everything I needed during my stay. The pool lounge has cozy seating and a hammock for relaxed ocean views. If you’re traveling to Santa Teresa this is a must stay!

Host Lionel is welcoming and helpull. The rooms are large and clean. And the location allows you to be close enough to the surf but far enough for the quietness and the jungle experience, especially important because santa teresa gets pretty intense and full in the high season. Highly recommand!
You MUST have a quad or a 4x4 car.

A great cozy place in the jungle. Close to town but not noisy. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back.

Sehr schönes Hotel, welches neu eröffnet hat. Daher lasst Euch von den bisherigen Bewertungen nicht täuschen. Die Managerin Maria Cruz ist extrem nett und steht bei allen Wünschen mit Rat und Tat zur Seite.
Die Zimmer sind super gemütlich und extrem Sauber. Nachts ist es leise und die Betten sind sehr bequem.
Um das Hotel zu erreichen benötigt man ein 4x4 Fahrzeug.
Die Anlage macht einen gemütlichen Eindruck. Das Hotel hat auch nur 5 oder 7 Zimmer.

Super Hôtel à Santa Teresa! Proche de la mer et du centre ville , mais très calme en pleine nature. Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien agencées . La piscine est un vrai plus ! Possibilité de stationner une voiture , un quad . Le propriétaire se rend disponible pour vous donner tous les Tips ;-) Fan de surf il vous indiquera les meilleurs spots ! Une bulle de sérénité en pleine jungle ..Mention spéciale pour les couchers de soleil incroyables!

Hôtel propre, chambre propre avec draps blancs et spacieuse.
L’emplacement est idéal, un endroit calme dans la jungle, à 5 min du centre ville de santateresa.
Hôte très aimable.

Hôtel idéalement situé , au centre de Santa Teresa … dans une ambiance conviviale et chaleureuse, il offre une belle piscine au milieu d une nature luxuriante… les chambres sont confortables et décoré dans l esprit local .. très bon rapport qualité /prix

Not worthy unless you have a 4x4

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passt leider nicht...

1.Impossible to find from the first try: the point on google isn’t correct, the host knowing that problem doesn’t let you know about it in advance so we ended up cruising around hills
It says on booking that it’s 800m walking to the beach - no way you can get there and back walking. It’s 10 min uphill by car

2.The next morning after booking a room for 5 nights, one hour before they start to check in we’ve received a message from the hotel saying that they’re fully booked for the next days and we only can stay there 2 nights. In booking tho you could still see rooms available for the next week

3.As well they asked to pay only in cash, to my question whether we can pay for the room by card at the hotel the answer was negative which to me looks quite sketchy being a hotel at $90/night.

4.we spent maybe 15 min trying to lock the door to the room in the night and ended up wasting 30 min in the morning trying to open it. As a result had to call the host and ask him to come rescue us. Ended up throwing the key out of the window to the host and after some minutes he was able to unlock the door from the outside

4.the leaving room/breakfast area which we saw on the photos is in reality a private owner’s area

5.pool hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. Most likely the filters are turned off (again, $90/night)

6.in the bathroom there’s no soap,shower gel etc We had a peace of a soap which had probably been left there by another guest
No place to hang towels, no dryer. (yet again, $90/night)

7.we had bugs in our bed which I understand might be a normal thing in Costa Rica considering all the fauna but in 20 days of staying in different hotels/airbnb we have not seen this

8.It’s ridiculously overpriced for what it is. There are plenty of better places around for the same or cheaper price

How come in this century there are hotels who do not accept credit cards???? They ruined our trip because they weren’t explicit enough from the very beginning. We booked it a long time ago, and until recently they let us know they wouldn’t take credit or debit cards. I will never use this hotel and will never recommend it to anybody
