We loved our stay here. We went over with a roof top camper and enjoyed the comfort of the facilities, and everything was all so clean! The hospitality was awesome and we eventually stayed longer than planned. Great spot to base yourself to access the remote and quiet beaches, as well as busier spots, whilst staying at a gem of a place. Thanks for a great stay!

I have been coming here for 6 years and I cannot say enough good things about Misha and Yen! This is not your average hostel, and should be treated as something special. It is like the hostel experience everyone wants to have but doesn’t get in the end. It is clean, organized, quiet, fun, and absolutely the best place to meet kind and interesting travelers. M&Y are so gentle in their approach that you don’t even notice how hard they work to maintain a very specifically balanced environment that is truly the most relaxing and enjoyable place to spend time. I end up changing my travel plans to extend my stay here EVERY TIME, haha. And this time around I realized that it is such a special area that I bought land here. There is no other place like it. The breakfast is great and the tents are comfortable. If you can, spend 5+ nights here. There is PLENTY to do and the best part is settling in and letting the days blend together.

Awesome place! A must go when you are around. Or make a special travel to this place haha. We had the best time with hosts Yenkim & Misha, their volunteers and friends and other guests. Very clean, nice music in the open kitchen, bbq, surfboard rental, great kitchen equipment, a big bench to see the sunrise, hammocks, waking up with howler (alouatta) monkey sounds, outdoor shower, we had a beach for ourselves very close... The best memories from our holiday we made here!! <3

Perfect spot with very friendly and warm hosts. Relaxed environment, yet very clean and everything well functioning. Fast wifi.
We did the short hike to the viewpoint. We also walked to the closeby beach - dusty due to the gravelroads. :)

Really nice camping site. The best one by far in our road trip through Costa Rica, managed by a really nice Dutch couple. We highly recommend it.

What can I about this place? It was a paradise within a paradise. The people that run this place are super friendly and welcoming (even gave me a slice of cake!) and the property is amazing! The tents are very cozy and private , its a great place to relax if you need to step away and get a little quiet time from the rest of your trip. If I ever visit Costa Rica again I will definitely be making a stop back here! Great experience and memories!

A fantastic place to stay! We camped with our own tent but the facilities were wonderful, everyone was extremely kind and it was clean and well laid out. My only hot shower in Costa Rica was also extremely appreciated. There was a lot of cool things to do in the area, only wish I’d spent more time here. Thank you for a great stay and hope to be back in the future!

Nice shaded camping with are own tent. Very clean community area with kitchen, showers and toilets. Have canvas tents with nice beds also available. Friendly owners. Close to great beaches and a nearby town with some restaurants and stores. A good example of what camping could be in CR. We’ll be back again.
Thanks

What a magical little place! I highly recommend staying here a few days and exploring the area. The owners are amazing and the entire experience reflects their love and care. Next time I visit Costa Rica I’m going to stay twice as long!

This place is beautiful - so nicely done in a gorgeous, relaxing and peaceful spot with just howler monkeys for company! There is a great communal area with a kitchen and you can get breakfast and juices on site if you don't want to cook. The hosts are wonderful and friendly. I loved the tent - so romantic, especially at night! It's all been really well thought out and has an emphasis on being at one with nature. A great little find.

Amazing facilities, friendly hosts with a great community where you can socialize with other guests in the common area.

Fully equipped kitchen, fresh natural fruit smoothies and breakfast available for purchase, extremely clean, hammocks, showers with warm water, wifi, safe and quiet at night so you can sleep soundly, many activities in the area to keep you busy and having fun!

Lots of wildlife onsite like iguanas, geckos, hummingbirds, howler monkeys and more! 🦎

Definetely would recommend to anyone looking to have a great time in Costa Rica and would visit again 100% 👌

One of the best camping spots we have found in our 4 campervan tours around Costa Rica. Spotlessly clean showers (with hot water!), toilets, and communal/kitchen area. Good wifi in communal areas and campsite. Close to excellent beaches and hiking trails. Bars, shops and restaurants a few minutes drive away. Complimentary coffee in the morning, and they will even make you breakfast.
We loved the early morning horse ride to viewpoints and along the beach organised by the owners.
If you want a bit of luxury on your camping/campervan/RV/roof tent trip, or want to stay in well situated ready pitched and furnished tents give this place a go, you won't be disappointed.

We were super lucky to stumble across this tranquil gem in the rough of the adventurous dusty jungle roads of the Nicoya Peninsula. The sun was setting and we were a little lost, however a warm welcome awaited at Alouatta.

This is no usual hostel or camp ground, this is an embrace into someone's vision and dream.

We climbed the raised sun-set bench to watch the setting sun over the ocean and mountains, surrounded by beautiful nature, the sound of howler monkeys in the distance and waves crashing on the coast... Very romantic.

The canvas bell-tent accommodation was stunning. A bedside fan, pretty lantern light carefully crafted, power to charge your devices - rustic luxury.

A lovely open plan shared kitchen area to relax, take in the view, share conversation and (for me) work from (with good internet).

If you get time for a surf, there is great surfing just below the campground on the stunning beach.

Misha and Yen are wonderful hosts who have clearly put their hearts into making this special place for other's to share with them. We are very grateful.

One of the best places on the Nicoya. Not next to a beach but they're just down the road. Super clean, super nice and reasonably priced breakfast and cold drinks. I stayed 3 nights as a bike tourer and did day rides without packs - loved it.

“Home away from home” would be our suggestion for this place’s tagline. The owners Yenkim & Misha created a wonderful lodge surrounded by nature and its wildlife and in between different beaches. The tents are spacious and really comfortable. You can also bring your own tent or camper-van and stay on their hill enjoying the ocean view. Cleanest bathrooms we’ve seen and a communal area that has everything you need and more. We made great memories and friends and would highly recommend visiting, even if its just for an iced coffee!

This is seriously the best campground/hostel we've ever stayed at. Stayed 2 nights instead of one. Yenkim and Misha did incredible job here. It's so welcoming, so clean, comfy, perfectly equipped kitchen, fast wifi, superb juices, cutest puppy Bibu, amazing sunset, howler monkey sounds and so much more. I recommend everybody staying here. But be warned, no other place will ever satisfy you after this experience.

At first I was unsure about paying to sleep in a tent. I would however choose to sleep in the tents at Alohuatta over any room I've been in on other hostels. The tents are clean and has comfy beds. They are also covered with "an extra roof" to keep the tent out of direct sunlight (which keeps the tent from getting a hundred degrees).

Alouatta has a super chill athmosphere in a very beautiful area. The communal area is combined with an outdoor kitchen, a few hammocks and a nice view over the whole area. They have a nice setup with lots of board games to play, which makes Alouatta a perfect place to relax after a day surfing. They also offered some of the best homemade smoothies I've ever tasted.

There's a beautiful beach close to Alouhatta. I highly recommend going there during the sunset. For surfers, there's a point break right next to the beach. The waves were to small during our stay, but we managed to catch some good waves anyways, and we believe that surf can be really good there with some bigger waves.

Yenkim and Misha at Alouatta have put a lot of effort in building this place. It also turned out amazing, and I can highly recommend this place to anybody traveling along the coast of Costa Rica!

We got to this place by recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. Really kind, helpful and passionate hosts (Dutch), that will give you great advise to the area. There are a beach, a beach restaurant (outstanding pescado entero), a view point and many animals nearby - although a car is useful. You might Iguanas, Nosebears, Racoons and, if you are lucky, - or not - snakes. As they turn out the lights at night, the stars are incredible. The tents come with a very good price-quality ratio and got electricity inside. Beds are in very good condition too. The terrace in the middle of the property is also very welcoming. Highly recommended if you are looking for a special experience!!
