Bogarin Coffee Shop

Enjoyed a great breakfast here. They accommodated my wife’s unique request for a brisket omelet and it didn’t disappoint! Bacon was just okay - more “hammie” than I’m accustomed to, but that’s probably a “me” thing.

Breakfast was amazing! We had the authentic Costa Rican breakfast with fresh juices. We also enjoyed all the different birds around us while we were eating. Service was excellent and prices are reasonable.

Good for locals and tourist alike!
(Followed the other review stating he wish he found it sooner, it was spot on and I’m glad I did.

It’s a little off the beaten path (down a gravel road by the Bogarin trail), but well worth the adventure.

As it’s a limited menu, the cook / proprietor is happy to mix and match ingredients, in my case one day I had the brisket omelette, the next the pulled pork omelette, neither on the menu (they had them A’s sandwiches for lunch), but both came out terrific with cheese, tomatoes, onions and sweet peppers as well.

The staff was very pleasant and understanding with my Spanglish, but we worked together to have success.

I’m not a coffee drinker, but their selection looked top notch and saw many happy consumers.

It’s right next to the private reserve, though their “happy hour” in the evening was hit and miss (was not open at closing when I did the trail).

If I find myself in the area again I’ll be happy to go back, maybe even make a detour!

Great coffee right next to the sloth trails!

Déjeuner délicieux, à l'entrée de la Bogarin trail ! Nous avons découvert ce café à notre dernière journée à La Fortuna et l'avons adoré. C'est très joli, entouré de plantes et à l'entrée de la Bogarin Trail. Les sandwichs au poulet et au brisket étaient délicieux, et les smoothies au passionfruit étaient frais.

Great little cafe with moderately reasonable prices, good coffee and fruit batidos/smoothies. It's located in Bocarin Trails so while it's free to park and eat inside the cafe, you need to pay and receive a wristband in order to sit outside and look at the birds.

Good food and drinks, reasonable prices. I ate here 4 times in 3 days while staying nearby, and it was 50/50 if everything I ordered came out.

Not very good empanadas. In fact, those are nothing like empanadas. Very oily and weird taste.

Horrible and expensive coffee, the birds view is intentionally blocked so you have to pay. No view and no good food
