Valentin Cayo Cruz

Beautiful & well maintained resort. The view was beautiful from our room. Loved the big walk in shower with rainfall shower head.
The entertainment was in great, they had a dance team who were very well rehearsed and managed to put on a great show after working all day at various other spots in the resort.

The staff at the lobby bar make an excellent iced coffee.

We never had trouble finding a chair or lounger by the pool or the ocean. The staff were all very friendly and I felt very safe at the resort.

This resort is absolutely amazing but omg the mosquitoes. I would not recommend going to Cayo Cruz unless you want to get eaten alive. I would share a pic but I am completely embarrassed by my legs. The mosquitoes are horrible. They attack you why you are sleeping even threw your clothes. I had to visit the Dr twice on the resort and got a shot in my arm for the infection I got from the mosquitoes.

Other then the bugs the place is gorgeous, the staff was very nice and kind, sometimes alittle slow but friendly.

There was alot of shortages. No eggs for the week, no butter, ketchup and the food was okay. If your going for the food you will be disappointed 😞

They have a 24 hr snack bar and 24 hr drinks which was awesome. It was a great trip over all but I will not be going back to Cayo Coco anytime soon

The views, the rooms, the service and the people are a solid 10/10, the resort is spacious and beautiful. The best bartenders, and the most friendly staff + people I've ever met. A huge shout-out to baralio, our bartender, libney, our concierge, and Giovanni, our beach bartender, all of them went above and beyond to make it a truly memorable experience, I will be back!

The only negative I can say is the food selection was small, but they did very well with what they had to offer, and this was more than made up for by the people and amenities and the drinks

What an amazing experience! From the attentive and personable team members, to the beautiful weather, to the good food, I had an awesome time at Valentin Cayo Cruz! I have never experienced such great staff in a resort and this is what will bring me back again. The resort is about an hour from the airport but it an area that is not as "touristy" so if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway, this is it!

We had a lovely maid named Karolaine that everyday did our bed up in a new lovely way.
A very caring golf cart driver, Leo, who always checked in to make sure everything was OK.
My friend had a blister on her heal that one of the workers at the pool saw and got a bandaid for.
The staff at the snack bar did their best to make me a beautiful (gluten free) meal that was healthy.
A short walk to the marina and met Alexander who showed us all around even though he couldn't speak English and marina was closed.
The absolute best catamaran ride with Amille who spoke English very well and was super nice and professional.
Traveled as a group of four over 50 age ladies and always felt safe. Resort was quiet and easy to get around. One of us is blind and other than the stairs everything was very accessible. She and all of us said we would go back here again. Yes tge beach does have seaweed when the winds are up but it is still beautiful and so is the water!

This resort is brand new everything in the rooms worked there wasn't any gaps for critters to sneak in. The pools all had beautiful veiws and very different vibes so every day has the opportunity to be different. The garden and pool staff were super friendly and know how to help with the bugs, which can be bad if the wind is down. I suggest getting the alegance upgrade with your stay, there is so many extras included that really add to the experience especially if the resort has more patrons.
DO NOT BRING COINS TO CUBA!
The Cuban banks and establishments do not accept coins or poor condition bills please be aware of this and plan accordingly.
I left with over $100 in change from buying it back from the staff at the resort so that they can be paid. Not only does it add more work to everyone involved but its also ignorant of the challenges that the Cuban people already have.

It's one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen. The water was so clear and a beautiful Turquoise blue. Valentin cayo Cruz was an amazing resort. The rooms were very clean. The resort has two beautiful pools, one to play volleyball and the other one a swim up bar. The bathroom was spacious enough room to have a dance party in. 😁. staff we're very friendly and always smiling. They treated you like family.
The food was amazing. They have 5 different restaurants of your choice Italian seafood mexican caribbean Mediterranean. You have to try the pizza or lasagna, which is amazing! or the buffet, which is also yummy. They dont have ketchup or peanut butter or syrup, but you can bring your own. This resort is a must. If you travel in April, the mosquitoes are bad at night, but not for long. The staff spray a fog at night around 7ish and last for 5 mins. They have entertainment every night, such as disco, white night, romantic night, and more. Thanks to all the staff that made my 7 days a wonderful one.

Great newer hotel. Amazing beach. Nice big clean rooms. A walkers paradise. Always a nice breeze, great for keeping the bugs away.
3 big pools in different locations. Young energetic staff honing their skills everyday.
We upgraded to the Alegance and enjoyed the perks.

The staff at the resort was amazing.. very friendly.. the activity staff ( Arian and Jesus) loved them! The swim up bar (Adel and Silvia) and snack bar staff are all amazing! Little FYI don't take the coffee cups from the room and leave them at the buffet. If u take them out make sure to bring them back to the room or u can get charged for them. Had the best time.. watch for sand fleas and mosquitos too. Food was great too. Thank u for the best time ❤... Ps the dancers were great too.

We travelled to Valentin Cayo Cruz March 30th for one week thru Air Transat. We were a group of 4 and upgraded to the Alegance package.
It started off fantastic when we were greeted getting off the bus by music and dancers. The day we arrived was my friends birthday so that made it extra special.
All our rooms were amazing - very spacious and clean with fantastic views. Both **Annia Sarmiento Benitez and Orestes Rolando Perez Diaz** answered any questions we had during the week and ensured our stay was extremely enjoyable by taking care of every detail.
We had excellent massages on the beach by Richard. Richard is such a nice guy and very professional.
The entertainment staff really go the extra mile and were absolutely amazing. We had fun participating in the morning poolside stretching, aquafit, volleyball and many other games. A special thank you to Maikel, Arian, and Jesus. All entertainment staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time.
Our swim up bartender Sylvie was very attentive and made fantastic drinks.
The beach staff Jorge, Manuel, Yosvany, and Michel were so helpful and friendly. They ran across the beach at super speeds to arrange chairs together and would cheerfully check on us to make sure everything was good.
The gardeners Antonio and Pacheco at block one were so nice greeting us with flowers every morning. They keep the grounds looking so clean and beautiful.
Our server, Danaeyis at the breakfast and lunch buffet outdoor area was super sweet. She made sure we had hot coffee, tea and anything else we needed. We sure miss our gorgeous views while having breakfast and lunch.
All in all we met great staff, other fun travellers
and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Valentin Cayo Cruz.

This is to share my feedback about our recent 2 weeks’ vacation at Valentin Santa Cruz all-inclusive
resort in Cuba. Firstly, my husband and I were so happy we can finally get back in the “Caribbeans Yearly
Vacations” mode after 3 years due to you know what. Secondly, in my narrative I will mostly point the
positives. So here it goes... Weather was excellent (30 Celsius and mostly sunny each day and windy only
during last 3 days, water good for swimming both in ocean (some sea weeds) & pools, sunset at 5:30
PM, nice warm breeze in the evenings, did not feel any humidity). Sandy beach was nice during low
tides, but overall narrower than advertised; we still did our beach walks done daily and sometimes
stopped at other adjacent resort for beach bar drinks). Room was excellent; modern & looked as brand
new; room service was OK. Had water placed inside fridge daily. Food was OK; for breakfast mainly eggs
& bacon, also delicious prosciutto & coffee, for lunch & dinner we alternated between
chicken/pork/lamb meat & mostly rice; slim choices of potatoes; limited variety and fish & shrimp were
only available twice; good roast pork available 2-3 times weekly. Fruits choices were OK: papaya,
grapefruit, mango, bananas and delicious apples. Veggies v limited choices. Food at a la carte x3
restaurants was similar with Buffet, in smaller portions but served fancier. FIFA soccer world cup was on
and this was a focal point daily to get together and watch with others in the lobby bar lounge. Drinks
were great: Cristal beer, Rum of all kinds, Tequilla, Whisky, excellent Red & White Spanish wines, also
beverages. Resort occupancy was at ~15%, but this worked for us & our daily schedule... Canadians
mostly, which was also great ! We danced a few nights in the lobby on live piano & sax music. Doctor on
premises ($) but we had our first aid kit stocked with all needed. Cuban Currency changed to the actual
Cuban Pesso (~1.15 CAD for 1 CP at hotel x-chg office). However limited & v expensive assortment of
items in hotel store & adjacent shopping center; we ended up buying cigars & other items from the
Airport stores on our way back home (can use both CAD cash or credit card, but all prices are listed in
USD). I left intentionally at the end of my narrative the thing which continues to impress us over the
decades = Cuban People; most of hotel staff were friendly, always happy to help even with or without a
tip. Our special thanks go to YOILER, YELAINE, SILVIA (bartenders) and YONNY (Manager) who always
excelled trying to make our stay even better. We plan to go back in Nov 2023! All the best to ALL!

We had the best time in Valentin Cayo Cruz! The food was great, the beaches were gorgeous and the staff was incredible. Enrique, Michael and Jesus led the entertainment and made our experience unforgettable.
Aidel was our favourite bartender at the swim up bar. Edelso served us every day at the buffet and made us feel extra special.

We are planning to go back asap!

Awesome Christmas Vacation
The resort was wonderful as was the beach. You will not go hungry here. There is always something wonderful to eat. The speciality restaurants were also great.The rooms were modern, the beds were comfy and the views and the beach were outstanding. Another wonderful point about the Valentin Cayo Cruz is your vacation here can be either as busy or as quiet as you want it to be. My vacation was spectacular due to the people and the amazing service and their attention to every detail!! Orestes😍❤, Annia, Geraldo, Richard , Eldelso, Ismarai, all made my vacation wonderful. Thank you!!! Be sure to upgrade to Alegance, so very worth it. I will be back soon!!!🙂😍

The resort is supernice and the staff is simply amazing. A big round of applause to Roxana, Léandro (who makes the best pina colada), to Julio the best cook and to Maikel and Adian the funniest entertainers out there. I highly recommand the resort and can guarantee you that you won’t regret it.

Christmas in Cuba

A beautiful resort with attentive and friendly staff. It was my first time in Cuba and unfortunately, I ended up spending the week in a wheelchair ♿ because I injured my knee on day 1. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the resort and the amazing staff who took excellent care of me during my stay. I’m grateful to the following people: Jorge, the on-site doctor for assessing my injury and for providing pain management; Richard, the RMT, for the knee massage and for wheeling me around; Geraldo, the bartender for serving up some of the best Frappuccinos, mojitos and pina coladas; Edelso, the buffet waiter for helping my amazing friend get my meals to me in my room; and Ruslan for the apples and ice. Special thanks to Annia, the resort manager, and Orestes, the Algeance-level concierge and PR person for providing access to medical care and services. Orestes went above and beyond to coordinate and accommodate all of my special needs, and did so with a friendly smile. His proficiency in English and French was instrumental to my visit - he acted as a translator whenever I needed one - he relayed important medical information and processes and kept me laughing when I wanted to cry. Orestes wholeheartedly gave his time and energy and made it his mission to see that I had the best vacation possible. If you book an Alegeance-level stay, be sure to seek him out and get to know him. You will not be disappointed. Muchas Gracias💕

Food was good, beach was a little rough while we were there, but we got a few days of calm waves and beautiful sunsets. Jesus, and The Entertainment crew at the pool side, were hilarious and made us feel like old friends.
I will definitely be back for another visit.

Had an amazing time here. It's a brand new resort. There wasn't alot of people there, it was quiet. The beach is gorgeous, but go early to get a good spot. I didnt mind the food at all, the restaurants are very good. The only downside is the lack of nightlife. Seems like a resort for older people and it's very quiet around 10pm. We basically hung out at the pool bar and had the best time there mingling and drinking. Some staff are not friendly at all, and others were amazing! I would not go to this resort again because I personally like to explore off the resort and check out local nightlife and markets. This resort is an hour from the airport ina very secluded area with nothing else around. I noticed they are in the works of building a "downtown" strip with shops and a spa (which they dont advertise very well). A new resort is being built right next door. I'm sure in the next 3 years it will really build up. The beach is absolutely amazing. If your looking for a very relaxing and quiet get away, this is really the place for you. Alot of Candians, and mostly from Quebec. There are excursions to choose from, but we never ended up checking them out. Do not buy excursions on the plane through Sunwing. Wait until you get to the hotel, and prices are different. There is a bowling alley in the local downtown strip that we tried to go to, but it was shut down. Probably because there isn't enough people. You can buy descent souvenirs at the airport on your way out. One lady i met at a theater show had her phone stolen at the new years eve celebration, but she left her purse unattended. Just be smart, this could happen anywhere. The resort staff threw a huge bash for the guests, gave everyone mini bags with hats and confetti and had live music all night for New Years. It was fun. The entertainment by the pool during the day is fun too. The rooms are beautiful and so clean. The entire place is clean. The only complaint is the one nightt time bar is under the pool and smells badly of sewage. If you keep drinking, you dont notice it anymore....small resort, great to make friends for the week as you will run into them over and over again. We had fun. But like I said, it was a one time experience and I will choose another place closer to Havana next time.

Service was Stellar, very clean, everyone was so friendly..I would return here without hesitation..
