This place is now called memories Trinidad Del Mar - not sure why they have not updated the old name in google

I was skeptical before booking sunwing vacations with my 2 infants and wife but I was left very happy after my visit . This is our first visit to Cuba

Pros
- great beach just steps from the rooms
- amazing swimming pool
- mostly friendly staff and bartenders who don’t mind even when we don’t tip (we tipped a $ for every 2-3 drinks but saw few people who never tipped and even after live shows they just didn’t tip the performers )
- amazing food (yes we heard very bad reviews about the food in Cuban all inclusive resorts but had no complaints ) of course you can’t expect your country’s cuisine and need to be open to trying all meat and dishes
- very safe . There are a lot of security guards who prevent vendors from harassing us at the beach
- very close to Trinidad city and the double decker bus is a good way to go . We loved the city as well though just went to a couple places there

Cons
- no hot water in our building 6 throughout our stay so it was difficult with the infant but we managed . The hotel tried their best and also gave us a bucket of hot water one night and offered to move to a diff room the other night

I highly recommend this place ! And when you go interact with locals and take a walk as well it’s worth it !

We went for our honeymoon and greatly enjoyed our experience! The key to enjoying this hotel and trip is expectations and remembering what you paid for.

Initially there were some bumps at the beginning with not having the honeymoon package, dead cockroaches in the room etc. But the staff were quick to rectify the issues and even gave us complimentary massages and a special breakfast.

Part of the trip for us is the people we met along the way. Not just the other guests but also the staff and locals. Some of the staff are very good and of course will remember if you tip them. Many went out of their way to help make our time memorable and fun!

The weather, beach and environment is beautiful and the highlight of the trip for us. There is a gorgeous mountainside in the front and a beach you can't get tired of in the back. Along with the nearby town Trinidad that we would definitely recommend checking out - Cafe don pepe and Casa de Conchocharo are great places to check out.

If you love people, great weather and have an open mind then you will love this place too!

A Perfect Stay!!!
I really had a great vacation. The Memories Trinidad del Mar in Cuba is a human size resort with staff that make you feel welcome and provide a 5-star service. The rooms are clean and very near the beach. Make sure to say Hi to Sophia at the snack bar, she’s the best!
Hotel is located on the great Ancon peninsula! 4km long, clean-not-over-crowded beach with palms and trees with a background view of the Sierra Escambray montain range and astonishing sunsets …
Very Close to old colonial city of Trinidad - just a short taxi ride away (ask Osman to reserve) that has tons to offer: Good restaurants, arts and shops and great music venues, like La Casa de la Musica – “a must-go-to” for a real taste of Cuban culture.
Not to far away is the entrance to El Cubano, a Unesco natural reserve heritage site where you can do and see all sort of things.
The only down-side if you are coming from the Santa Clara Airport is the 2-hour long drive through the Sierra … but it was worth it and I will definitely return.

I should have written this review two months ago… but, here I am describing my amazing experience at Memories Trinidad del Mar. I stayed only one night along my Cuban family (7 people), and all of us had the same impression. The pool was clean and quite. The music was amused, appropriated and not too loud. The snack-bar has a beautiful decoration and it’s fresh. They offer delicious bites and drinks to enjoy all day long. And what to say about the Buffet? The restaurant was clean, with good air conditioning, which is really important to enjoy a meal in that very hot weather. I was impressed by the variety of food they were offering. Delicious and well-presented Cuban and international dishes. Rooms were clean, with good air conditioning, and beds were comfortable. However, this hotel is a little old and some of them need updates.
Staffs were nice and customer oriented from the check-in to the checkout. Some of them need to improve their English level, but they are ready to please you all the time. We were lucky to meet an internship student Gabriel Landestoy. It called to my attention that even being a student, he paid attention to the details all the time, and was moving around from one place to another making sure every single client was pleased and well served. I guess that by now he already finished his placement in this resource. I would recommend to the Hotel Management to consider talented students like Gabriel as future employees.
The beach does not need too much description. It is a Cuban Beach!!! And I was surprised to see how much effort and resources the hotel invests in keeping it clean. The sea is transparent and quite. And the sand is comparable with the Varadero’s.
I am looking forward to coming back to Trinidad Del Mar

Memories has gone through an ownership change. New ownership has completely renovated the resort.
Rooms are clean, and cleaned daily. No issues with bugs or small animals.
Staff are attentive and kind, the bar does get busy but they move quickly.
Memories' cost 5 CUC to get to town by bus, or 10 CUC by taxi. For larger groups, it's much easier to use taxis.
The food is seasoned, and much better than any food I have had in Havana, Cuba.
The night life is great in the city, and a bit low key on the resort.
The resort has entrances/exits that are right on the beach. So the Caribbean sea is literally only a step away.
Water sports are amazing, however there are no jet skis.

Sun, sand, cappuccinos and rum... what can you for more...
