Hotel Playa Pesquero

No complaints at all! Our recent family trip was absolutely amazing at this resort, kids loved it. Definitely recommending. The grounds and the beach at this resort are fantastic. There were enough food and beverage options every day, and despite food shortages in Cuba the staff at this resort try their best to make their guests enjoy their vacation. Well done Playa Pesquero staff across the board. Milena in entertainment is lovely, pure sweetheart, our kids love her. We will definitely be back!

We spent 10 wonderful days at the resort. The rooms were clean, the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. Met so many wonderful people. Our days were spent relaxing by pool or on the beautiful beach.

I love this hotel it is big but very nice and clean. The waitress's and waiter in the mornings at buffet Barbara Raysa and Francisco and super nice and efficient they always take care of your needs as quickly as possible and treat you like family. They always have a smile on their faces doing the best job they can. I would highly recommend going here if you want a friendly atmosphere

Had a wonderful experience, stayed in the Premium section. Absolutely perfect as I needed a relaxing vacation. ALL of the staff were exceptional, I highly recommend this resort. Just a note, we were able to visit the other section at any time to enjoy the buffet and entertainment. I will be going back next year!

Rooms are well appointed, the staff go above and beyond your expectations. You can always find food you like, and portions are large. Zaimi ( spelling might not be correct) is more than accommodating, friendly, and her attention to detail is impeccable. Can't say enough great things about the staff, they will assist you with any issues you may have, and will not be happy until you arrive happy and satisfied. Cannot ask for anything more.

We stayed at Playa Pesquero from January 22-29 and I can say that it exceeded our expectations. We had a few problems at the beginning with our room but the staff quickly changed our room and did all they could to be accommodating. What really stands out about this resort is the staff, everyone was so welcoming and helpful. The food was as expected for Cuba but the wait staff were so great. A special shout out to Yanelis from the buffet, who always made sure we were well taken care of.

The spa was also amazing. Alex and Gabrielle gave my partner and I some of the best massages we’ve ever had. The location was absolutely beautiful and there are so many water sports to be enjoyed. We especially enjoyed our catamaran trip with George, who took us out to some secluded spots for snorkelling. I also want thank the sweet lady who cleaned our room, Mayea, who always went above and beyond to make our trip feel special.

Overall, it was a great trip and I would return again.

We had a great time! Beautiful green property. Such fun lobby. Yes true- limited food options. Hopefully things turn around. I am not picky so I would come back as soon i could!

My parents (Dmitri and Victoria) stayed at the Premium section at Hotel Playa Pesquero from Dec 20-27. They had such a lovely experience. The beaches were amazing, the hotel rooms were clean, as they were cleaned twice a day. The only issue they encountered were very loud sounds from the rain at night time, because they were on the first floor. So try to ask for the second floor to avoid this inconvenience if possible.
The food was A La Carte. The menu was very vast, with a variety of items at each meal and very good service.
They want to give a shout-out to their Butler Osmani who was super helpful during their stay. All the managers at the front desk provided very good service.
Overall, would highly recommend this resort!

Hello everyone I was there 2 weeks ago, and in my opinion is the best resort on the coast of that area.
The food was delicious but not extraordinary or something exquisite. Personal was always friendly. If you go to the restaurants this changed just place and manner of presentation, not food. I had 5 tickets for all the restaurants on this resort.
What about the ocean? Here, it's 5+ no less. The trees on the beach create a natural shade in which it's very pleasant to hide. Of course, there are umbrellas but trees are better. On the beach white sand and crystal clear water. You can see everything in the ocean: coral reefs, exotic fish, and other things. Attention, also, no seaweeds, no garbage, no jellyfish, just clear water.
Rooms don't take on stars from the sky, but this is old style and everything is clear and well.
For a small vacation and relaxation, I think this is a good place.

Extremely friendly staff and the best resort activities promoter who won't leave you alone until you join in on the fun! The reserved dinner restaurants were delicious and very unexpected. The beach had 0 seaweed and refreshments were close by. Crabs, frogs, and cats like to visit your room.

I loved it here.

Tip: Buy your excursion seats at the resort as they are 1/3 of the price that shows on the website.

amazing week with amazing people. There was 8 of us, and it was a fantastic week. Staff was great, room was a room, our housekeeper kept it spotless, and it is a large resort!!! just walking from room to beach to lobby etc, I put in over 27 miles just that week. I found no issues with the food, drinks, anything really. the beach is huge, and a bit rocky when u first get into the water, but during low tide its easier. I've been to Guardalavca many times over the years and it never fails to disappoint!!

The food selection was limited due to ongoing supply chain issues in Cuba, but the staff were innovative with what they had available. We took advantage of the sailboat and catamarans and snorkeled off the beach every day. There is almost no motorboat traffic in the bay because - Cuba, so there is very little risk of a motorboat encounter anywhere in the bay.
I recommend bringing US $ bills, toiletries, or costume jewelry to tip with (at your discretion) The locals can't really use Canadian loonies and twoonies and converting to pesos doesn't give them much value from your money.
The barista in the main lobby is always busy and every week, they have "Canada's Day"!
Free wifi is now available in the main lobby, and other gathering places. We also had newly installed wifi in our room. The only downside is that you need to manually reconnect each time you move locations.
Tip: try the Buccaneero strong beer.

We visited Playa Pesquero for the first time in October. Not our first trip to Holguin (were staying in Sol Rio de Luna several times before).

Playa Pesquero is a great family destination, very huge hotel with nice rooms, cleaned daily, spectacular beach and ok food. The animation team run by Leo is awesome and has a great entertainment programme on the beach.

We had rain some days during our visit, but it was expected in October.

The hotel was not crowded when we arrived, but more tourists appeared during our stay and better food varieties were presented accordingly.

Had a great and relaxing family vacation, planning to come back some day.

We loved our stay. We even want to go back eventually. We went in October 2023, and it was awesome.

Very clean rooms, old fashioned rooms but clean and well maintained. They are renovating the rooms so it’s good for the future.

Beautiful beach, one of the nicest I have ever seen!

Great food, we didn’t miss anything even during COVID times. Restaurants à la carte were great and buffet had great selection. We ate well during our stay with 3 kids.

Great entertainment at night and shows for kids! Great service. Great gym. GREAT VALUE for price! 5 stars, bravo! I will come back 100%.

A nice, big hotel.
Lots of space and restaurants to disperse any crowd.
It was not that busy.
The hotel was in a fairly good shape and clean.
There was plenty of food and drinks, minus occasional shortage of soda.
The beach was huge and had lots of seating.
The water was clear and warmer than i was used to in dominican.
The staff was great and very friendly.
There was wifi that had decent coverage and speed.
Overall it was a relaxing experience.

Great resort, love the people, pool, beach, catamaran rides, coffee bar, pool bar, plenty of food for every one.

I and my husband went back this year to see how we would like it again. Premium service was fantastic. Had a massage at the spa it was dreamy loved every minute. The beach was stunning drinks and food was served to us when we asked. The food was great. The room service was impeccable.
Definitely will go back Again.

We had such a great experience. My daughter got married at the resort and the staff were fantastic. Beautiful wedding we could have not asked for more. The food was good and my husband and I stayed in the Supreme section of the resort total pampering service was impeccable, and rooms were spotless.

We will be back. There was a shortage of juice and soda, which we expected. The food was hit or miss. Again, we expected this. The coffee is excellent, the beach is excellent, the people are excellent. We did some deep sea fishing, which I highly recommend. We also did a jeep safari, which was a great way to see this part of Cuba. The housekeeping ladies are amazing. We had such a great time and met so many amazing people. This resort is very big! It feels like a small town.
