It's such an interesting and very beautiful place with a lot of history. I would definitely recommend this, and there is also an english translation of everything. I don't think it will be interesting for kids.

Highly recommend if you are in Augsburg. Entry is cheap (8 euro for adult, 7 for student) and you can easily spend 1-2 hours there (wouldn't need much longer than that). It is really interesting to read about the Fuggerei and they have multiple museums within the buildings to read about the way people live, and other things like the war. There is toilets located here too.

Yes, we know it isn't the original buildings, or even the second or third version. However, what an idea and the history of the place is incredible. Would be a great place to live, if only.....

This is one of the oldest living settlements. The entry fees is €6.50 and they accept only cash. The whole area can be covered by foot and not much walk also. There is a fast food restaurant inside the settlement and WC.

The history about the settlement will blow your mind and there is a house where you can watch the short movie or listen to audio.
There are also museums which takes you back to 500 years.

Loved our time spent here :)

Visit this place has as it has very beautiful gorgeous green creepers and a lovely charm.

An amazing community that was started over 500 years ago to help people who wanted to work but could not afford housing. The museum detailing history is a must see, and it is a worthwhile visit for the beauty of the buildings.

A definite must visit if you are in Augsburg, this is a amazing historical site depicting the original story of Germany’s residency, social life. This place was heavily damaged by bombings from World War II but has been built back to its original style. It was a bit of pity that reception lady was very unfriendly. Entrance fee for adults is 6:50 euro. The place is picturesque.

Very interesting and quiet place. Earliest social housing project in the world. Has been in continuous operation since the 1500s. About 140 units and some other interesting historical facts such as Amadeus Mozart had a relative living here and visited on occasion.
Spend a couple hours here looking at the museums, examples of the residences to take it all in.
There is a small entrance fee and if one desires there is a beirgarten as well.

This is the world's oldest area of social houses, built in the 15th century and well kept until today. They say, the rent is less than 1 euro - even today! But you have to ba a catholic to be entitled, and oblige to pray every day. This is really a town within a town, with town walls and its own church. There are in total around 50 houses there. Normally you have to pay an entrance fee, but on 25.04.21 the cash desk was closed, so we were lucky and walked around. Amazing place, definitely worth visiting!

This place in is great, €6.50 to get in, make sure you pick up an English leaflet on the way in. There is is a small museum which is mostly in German, a replica house which has signs in English, and the WWII bunker which has signs in English and Italian

Must visit once if you visit Augsburg or Bavarian state.Oldest place in Augsburg city, built by jakob And The Fuggerei is the world's oldest social housing complex, its name from the Fugger family and was founded in 1516. The doorbells have elaborate shapes, each being unique, dating back to before the installation of streetlights when residents could identify their door by feeling the handle in the dark.

If the weather allows, a walk at the Fuggerei would be just pleasant! This is one of the important historical sites in Augsburg, and even until today they still keep it running. In the back (garden) zone they have put on a small exhibition explaining and demonstrating the history of Fuggerei during WWII.
