International Newspaper Museum

It's a small museum and explains how journalism and media works then how it is intentionally and unintentionally manipulated. Today the problem is the financial incentive to publish pieces that generate 'clicks' measured by the internet. Although not all of the display panels are in English there is more than enough screens and loudspeakers with explanations in English. They also respond to feedback: the manon the cash desk was very welcoming and helpful; the Guardian and numerous other UK papers are listed. Plea, please add Belgium's Le Soir.
The warning from history is that when politicians have exercised control no matter how seemingly insignificant, it has invariably ended in oppression or worse.

Nice local museum about the history of newspapers and media as well as about propaganda and manipulating the news. Sometimes they have extra exibitions. I enjoyed it a lot. They usually participate in the events when the museums are free in Aachen so if you are local you could save a couple of euros when going on one of those days

Very nice small exhibition on newspapers and media. Several fun interactive elements. Took part in guided tour (Sunday at 14 h) which was excellent!

Nice museum to visit .It's a small newspaper museum with educational exibits and international periodicals and newspapers from around thé world. Inside their collection of over 200.000 newspapers you can find many first editions.
It is amazing to learn how news was registered , printed out and published.

Amazing museum! They have the evolution of news and reading, they also have some cool stuff that might be the future of news. Worth a visit for sure.

Hier werden alle Register gezogen, um eine interaktive und spannende Ausstellung zu schaffen! Perfekt in 3 Sprachen übersetzt und mit sichtbarer Mühe modernste Museums-Techniken angewendet! Macht einfach Spaß! Tschüss verstaubtes Zeitungsmuseum, Hallo modernes Kommunikationsmuseum ;)

Das Museum überzeugt vor allem mit seinem sehr schönen Aufbau. Die Interaktionsmöglichkeiten sind zahlreich und der damit verbundene Erkenntnisgewinn groß.

Wir waren spontan im Museum, ohne uns vorher zu informieren und waren sehr begeistert.

Neben fast schon antiken Exponaten, wie einer der ersten Hörzu oder Ausschnitten aus der Preis ist Heiß hat uns vor allem eine Übersicht über die Zeitungen der Welt und über Bildmanipulationen seit Beginn der Fotografie sehr gut gefallen.

Wir haben gute 30 Minuten gebraucht um und alles anzuschauen, waren aber auch quasi alleine.

Was man schon immer über Zeitungsgeschichte und Nachrichtenentstehung und - Übermittlung wissen wollte: dort findet man es. Auch dem gar nicht mal so junge Thema Fakenews ist ein Bereich gewidmet. Und zum Abschluss geht's ins Nachrichtencafé mit ungezählten Schlagzeilen an der Stirnwand.

Die Aachener Nachrichten haben Geburtstag. 75 Jahre .Super Es war eine aufschlussreiche Führung mit anschließender Gesprächrunde .Organisiert durch den Zeitungsverlag .Es lohnt sich die Zeitung Aachener Nachrichten oder Aachener Zeitung zu abonnieren. Ein tolles Museum für alle, die sich dafür interessieren, wie Nachrichten entstehen, wie man Fake News erkennen kann und wie sich die Nachrichten immer schneller verbreiten. Die Ausstellung hat mehrere Ebenen, auch mit Übersetzungen und so kann man auch gut mit internationalen Gruppen hingehen.

Krantenmuseum , mooi om eens te bezoeken

War schon oft in Aachen, aber jetzt das erste Mal in diesem Museum. Ein Besuch lohnt sich sehr. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit; Wir kommen wieder!
