Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum

Exploring different cultures without venturing too far from home is a choice many of us make. For years, one of our favorite spots has been Aachen. Whether it's for a shopping trip or just a day out, we've frequented this city countless times. We've checked off most of the museums on our list, but somehow, the Suermondt Ludwig Museum always slipped our minds. That was a mistake on our part. Let me tell you, it's definitely worth a visit. The museum's interior is stunning, and its collection is truly impressive. We spent a good chunk of time immersed in the temporary exhibition "HEIMSPIEL: FLÄMISCHE MALEREI ZU HAUSE IN AACHEN." We're already planning to return someday to explore the rest of the museum's rich offerings.

Collection includes a Rembrandt and Zurbaran, and exceptionally curated medieval sculpture.

An amazing place for the fine arts collection. Knowledge staff who are very helpful. The best part kids friendly and lockers also available to keep the loads offs and stay easy...

Dürer expo is certainly worth a visit, unfortunately quite busy and guided tour groups are a really bad idea in a museum with limited space.

War zum 1. Mal dort und war von den Räumlichkeiten sehr angetan. Sonderausstellung Volker Hermes einfach toll. Besonders toll fand ich auch die Glasmalerei. Das Gebäude mit seiner Deckenmalerei ist einen Besuch wert. Besonders erwähnenswert sind die freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Mitarbeiter dort.

Bijzondere en uitgebreide collectie! Zeer de moeite waard om te bezieken als je in Aken bent.

Wir waren im Café und durften einen tollen aufmerksamen Service in einer schönen belichteten Atmosphäre genießen. Das Angebot war ausreichend und bot auch etwas für Veganer und Vegetarier. Zudem war der Kaffee grandios!

Sehr sehenswertes Kunstmuseum mit viel Renaissancekunst. Dass es sich überwiegend um Kunstwerke religiösen Hintergrunds handelt, ist sicher richtig, bei den Abgebildeten Epochen aber auch nicht überraschend.
Besondere Empfehlungen für die zweite Etage, die besonders mit einem sehr beeindruckenden Bismarckportrait besticht.
Auch die kleine aber umfassende Bibliothek ist einen Besuch wert. Dort können auch längere Zeiträume verlesen werden.

Klar man muss solche Museen mögen aber dann ist das Museum mit seinen unglaublich vielen Exponaten toll. Sehr hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Es wäre lediglich hilfreich wenn man mit Pfeilen eine Richtung für einen Rundgang vorgeben würde.

Das Museum befindet sich in einem alten Stadtpalast.
Ab heute gibt es auch eine Fotografie-Ausstellung: "Chronik eines Augenblicks- Bilder und ihre Geschichte in der Sammlung Fricke. (Bis zum 25.06.23)

Чудовий музей, на який бажано виділити хоча б декілька годин часу. Своєю затишною камерною атмосферою дуже нагадує музей Ханенків в Києві. Тут є своя Інфанта та портрети, що дивляться тобі просто в очі. Ще нагадує про Ханенків мумія та саркофаг: в своїй колекції Богдан Ханенко також мав мумії, але вони зберігаються в Лаврі.
