Landscape is good. You must go to this place during spring. It is beautiful to hang out with friends and family. I have been to museums but I heard museums also good

This museum is fantastic. The presentation of the exhibition "The life of the dead* is very beautiful. The lighting, the atmosphere, the pieces, all very enjoyable. It made us talk about death with the children in a more spiritual meaning rather than the fear of losing someone. The question we got from them due to this exhibition were different than the normal "death" questions children normally have. 10/10!

But we loved the stone age exhibition the most. The diorama's were so good, the story telling was well done, the presentation blew my mind. As an adult I was immerged in this world as well as our children.

Bronze, Viking, middle ages were all very very well presented. The "keys" in the viking age is an interesting take to bring us the different stories. The mannequins are so life like it's almost scary.

The price is good for the experience. Coffee, cola and four things to eat was the same price as tickets. A bit on the expensive side, but it was tasteful and good.

Recommended for sure! Go if you have the chance!
Our kids are 9 and 13 and did not want to go, we left with kids talking and talking and talking about all the things the museum presented.

Interactive history. Definitely worth a visit once in a while. The permanent exhibition takes quite some time if you’re trying to follow the stories and timeline. We’ve also seen 3 of the main temporary ones that really impressed us: The Day Of The Dead, about Mexican (and international) traditions honoring/celebrating the lives of people no longer with us; Out of Chaos (from the Roman Empire to aprox. 600 AD) where, among others, we’ve seen some of the famous Romanian treasures (Closca cu Puii de Aur) and more recently about Egyptian life and death traditions.
It is also kids-friendly, with lots of interactive stories or learn-by-playing points.

Love the museum! The exhibits are arranged in chronological ages with a focus on the region. Learnt a lot about the rich history in the Aarhus region as well as overall Viking, Scandinavian and European history. Good collection including artefacts, jewellery, bones and even a fully preserved bog man from nearly 2000 years ago. Can easily spend ~3 hours here.

Impressive attraction! It is a great place both for adults and children, where you could spend all the day and have fun and educational activities. A jump into the history of humankind and many interactive things to explore and understand how humans have evolved. The ticket is valid for the whole day and you can exit and take a rest and then enter again the exhibition. The location is amazing, overlooking the forest and the sea. There is also a restaurant, serving tasty food and drinks with a great view of the park. Convenient bus connection from the city center to the museum in less then 30 minutes. Highly recommended!

A really big and full museum. It has a huge collection of artifacts from Denmark, organised in chronological order on displays and exhibitions, starting from the stone age up to the medieval. You need about 2-3 hours to tour yourself around. In addition, a nice temporary exhibition was available for the collapse of the Roman empire due to the arrival of the people from the East "Out of chaos". Plan also for some extra time in order to check this brilliant building from the outside and especially explore the views that the roof garden provides.

We almost didn’t visit the Moesgaard museum thinking it wouldn’t have anything that interesting. The museum is about 15 mins drive out from the center of Aarhus. It’s definitely a must visit if you want to learn about North European prehistory. Their prehistory displays are amazing. We were there for hours. The kids have plenty of activities to try out.

The 2 exhibits I went to were both beautifuly displayed and very informative. I recommend going there if you love history. My favorite would be probably the exhibit explaining the battle of "Illerup Ådal". As you go downstairs, you feel as if you are witnessing the end of the battle from the bottom of the lake while armors and weapons are slowly sinking beneath the waters.

Honestly THE best history museum I have ever been to. No competition.

Cafe has all vegetarian menu, with allergens clearly listed. All information in the exhibitions are available in english, but the text and the audio features as well.

Probably the best museum in Scandinavia.
The price of the ticket, 180 Dkk, is high, but it is definitely worth the price.
The building itself is by itself a great piece of architecture blending with the natural surrounding. It is pleasant to see it even on a rainy day.
There are permanent exhibitions and ad hoc exhibitions in the building.
The museum is on different floors and there is enough content to consume that you could spend the whole day inside.
It is worth both for adults and kids.
I really liked the different bronze,Iron and Viking eras permanent exhibitions.
The cafè also offers a fantastic view.

This museum is a gem!
It takes around 30 mins by bus from the center or Aarhus to the museum, and it absolutely worth it!
The coffee shop has delicious desserts. The inside and outside are spectacular!

It is great. Especially the prehistoric parts. You can compare yourself with Lucy! 🙂

We truly enjoyed our visit in June 2022; this was by far the most interactive and immersive museum that we have ever visited.

All the people involved in setting up this museum deserve our respect, since they must have spend countless hours setting up all the artifacts, crafting stories for each scene, designing all the interactive videos and scenes and setting up the lighting and sound.

As a family we very much appreciated that any installation potentially exposing children to the more gruesome parts of history had a warning for parents beforehand, so that you could just skip it.

Each level offers break rooms, where you can sort of leave the exhibition and enjoy the stunning views from the very unique building.

There was so much to explore and learn, that we will definitely be coming back, whenever we find ourselves in Denmark again.

Wow
What a beautiful museum (but pricy...)
Devided so intelligently into the different exhibitions, which in turn are so knowledgeable and interesting
It took us 4 hours and we ran though a bit to make it all before closing time
I would recommend 5 hours at least
The museum is also so interactive, so it is fun for everyone 😇

A very interactive, and comprehensive history and antropological museum. Not too detailed but also lots to learn with acitivities. It can be reached easily by bus from the city centre of Aarhus, route 18.

Wow. Exceptional in nearly every respect. Brilliant, immersive displays on Denmark's prehistory, in an impressive building, with friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Plus there's an excellent and reasonably priced buffet on Wednesday nights!
